I knew somebody was gonna get hurt with all these guys coming in for workouts 2-3 weeks before training camp even starts.

Yeah could be a lingering minor issue. Boot could be used to help it heal better. What kind of reporter takes a pic like this without further investigation.

Sucks if we can't see him play preseason games but at least he has a month to heal before season starts.

Hopefully this isn't an Ed Davis situation where a player misses his first training camp. Another excuse for BC to bring up if this season doesn't go well?

Looks like a good time to hop on the Nerlens Noel bandwagon

If it was an ankle sprain, he would be using axillary crutches, not a walking boot.

Walking boots are used for stress fractures, fractures, etc.

I have never had to use a walking boot in my life, anyone out there who's used it for less than a broken bone?

I find it hard to come to the conclusion that this is something serious, given that he could not have been injured when he landed off the plane, and he is walking on his own in a boot.

What applications is such a boot used in?

I have used one before. This is not benign but the severity is unclear from just a picture of him in the boot. The good thing is that Jonas is not on crutches so he is completely weight bearing.

An aircast/walking boot is used for a lot of things - fracture, sprain, soft tissue injury. The main benefit is support and the compression to help with edema (basiacally swelling).

Best case is probably a minor ankle sprain. Worst case is an ankle/foot fracture.

I can't imagine a fracture not being reported so I'm going to hope for a minor sprain.

Yes, if it was a moderate/severe ankle sprain he would have crutches if he was only be partial weight bearing. However, his recovery can progress to the point of being full weight bearing and not needing the crutches but still wearing the boot for support/compression.

Even if it was a minor ankle sprain (Grade I sprain), he should be able to walk under his own power (limping a bit of course) with his ankle taped and no boot

That doesn't sound good at all.

Yea. If he was FWB I'm pretty sure an ankle compression bandage would suffice but as someone mentioned earlier, he had 4 ankle sprains last season so maybe he has chronic ankle instability. Who knows.
