This is our last chance to grab a meaningful player aka Pekovic/Love. We will be all capped out, this is it BC.

Love could compensate for Bargs lack of rebounding but they both like to stretch the floor
and shoot 3's? Wolves could also be scared of the reports of Portland loading up an offer
for Pekovic in the summer even though he is a RFA.
As for Derrick Williams why would we want him? He is a tweener and we need a proven rebounder
and low post scorer which he is not.
I think minny would swing a deal with la with a package including bargs+fillers for gasol.
Not sold on derrick williams either but he has talent comparable to mike beasley without the mental issues so he's worth a shot.
I just don't see why we would want Williams at all... He is yet another inefficient scorer (this team
has enough of those) he's not a great rebounder he's a tweener and is basically just an athlete and
we are already athletic enough.
I would have to imagine Pekovic and Ridnour/Barrea would have to be the target with Bargnani
and Anderson (Minny native) being dangled. Probably isn't enough and a 3rd team would have to
be involved because Bargnani and Love don't fit.

Dudes a clown. So they're searching for a pure pg and the two Pgs he names are Bledsoe and ridnour??? Are you serious one isn't a pg at this point and ridnour is more of a scorer who can manage a team.

Someone asked him about Bledsoe and he's telling that guy that Bledsoe appears to be unavailable.
Maybe the Raps are interested in JJ Barrea? Casey might like him from his Dallas days and he averages
more dimes than Ridnour in less minutes. But on the flip side he's short like Lowry and has an extra
year on his deal so I could also see the Raps pushing for Ridnour because he's taller and has 1 less
year on his contract.
What about AK47 is he to undersized to play PF? I remember he use to play some 4 for Utah.
He'd be a nice $10.2 expiring for next year.

I wouldn't call Ridnour a pure PG, he's actually more of a scorer but he has the ability to pass. I like both his shooting ability and passing, but he's definitely like a poor man's Calderon with the same defensive incapability. However, buying low on Derrick Williams would be fantastic, we can even play him as a stretch 4 and run the most athletic small ball lineup in the league.

Ridnour actually sounds like the perfect backup and ethier Pekovic or Williams would do.

He also said, in response to Jazz trading Millsap/Jefferson for Bargnani
Doesn't seem likely Jazz take on long term money but they do need perimeter shooting from their bigs.
What about something built around these parameters
To TOR: Ridnour/Berea + Millsap
To UTA: Williams
To MIN: Bargnani

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I dont trust Colangelo, I could see a Bargnani + Ross + Kleiza for Josh Smith + Devin Harris attempt by him.
Williams could be that guy that shines on a new team that is willing to give him minutes and a defined role a la OJ Mayo. Id take a flyer on him. He is only 21 after all and on a rookie deal.

i'd be ecstatic if we got Williams that's for sure.

Bargnani's an inefficient scorer as well but williams can do a lot more things (rebound, slash, has decent handles and can finish around the rim) than bargnani at half the cost. Right now we don't really have any scorers off the bench other than lucas, who's inconsistent and ross, who can't really create off the dribble. Worst case scenario he becomes an asset that teams would always have interest in because of his college numbers and him being drafted 2nd overall.

I'd do that deal for Smith in a second.

I think most teams look at Williams as trash he's been on the block almost the entire time he's
been with Minny with no takers. I was talking to some Wolves fans tonight that were telling me
that Rick Adelman can't stand him. He just doesn't fit our needs at all which is a proven rebounder
with a low post game that can score in the paint ala Gasol, Pekovic, Jefferson, Millsap etc
I would rather just amnesty Bargs then settle for a Ridnour/Williams deal and I like Ridnour.

As someone who has watched Minny often for the past two seasons, I can say Derrick Williams is none of those.
He is not really good at boxing out since he is not very strong and doesn't have a wide frame. He can jump but he is not particular good at reading where the ball is going to bounce to.
His handle is suspect at best and he really sucks at finishing around the rim, missing shots when the littlest of contact is there.
Yes he can slash well, but he fumbles the ball at a good rate. Nothing Kwame Brown-ish, but still not that good.
Basically the only thing he does good is shooting (inconsistent), running the floor and jumping. Great athlete, but two years in the league and he still hasn't learned how to use these athletic tools yet.
Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise.

I think Andrea's future is as a 6th a la Ryan Anderson. If Minny re-signs Pekovic - and they'd be nuts not to - Andrea would like good as a backup PF/C, especially when Minny goes small. Love's rebounding compensates a bit for Andrea's, though their inside D would be "questionable". But here's where Kirilenko fits in and picks up both guy's D. Nice big man rotation of Love, Pekovic, Kirilenko and Andrea.
Would we want to take a shot at Williams? Ridnour is solid, though he's obviously a win-now type backup PG. I haven't seen enough of Williams to assess him. He might not be the ideal fit here, though, alongside 2 other athletic wings who don't shoot really well from outside. Bottom line, you really have to scout Williams head to toe and see if he's gonna be a player or not.
On the other hand, maybe Andrea's trade value is so low right now that you can't expect much more.

Both Utah and Minnesota would have to be crazy to take on Bargnani for another 2 years over other alternatives (mainly, not acquiring Bargnani). Hope they bite
