Amnesty Barfnani.

Kleiza will be an expiring and should be easy to move at the deadline. Plus if he's healthy, he is more productive then Barfnani off the bench.

well then, what do you think it will take for us to net James Jones then?

Nothing. He's a free agent. You offer him a contract higher than any contending team and he's yours. I do like him as a 3 point shooter off the bench.

also I remember something, if Kleiza's injury is career ending (and it might be), not to wish that on him, but we may be able to get out of his contract then and there anyways, kinda like what happened back in 08 I think it was with Portland and Darius Miles.

Bargs for Tyrus Thomas. Same length of contract but he will make like 2.4 mill less than bargs next year. scrub for scrub.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

We cannot trade Bargs. Why not trade someone who actually has value?

Minnesota would want Val + Ross at minimum for Love. They'll try to emulate the James Harden trade of young prospects in my opinion.

First one is bad for us.

Second one is horrible for Minny.

From the other thread

Ross, Gray for Derrick Williams

Positional move. More need and minutes for a stretch 4 than a backup 2 guard.

Bargnani, TOR 2014 1st, TOR 2014 2nd for Paul Millsap S&T

Signing Millsap would be so BC it's not even funny, solves Bargs issue

I'd love the 2nd trade. Not sure about getting Williams if your gonna get Millsap, seems pointless.

It would have to be a 2015 1st I believe. Don't see them taking his salary though although they did offer Millsap 3 years 24 million. Bargnani would have 22.25 left on his deal.

Well do you think Utah would take Bargnani + a 1st for Millsap? Millsap is the perfect player for our lineup

Lowry / Telfair
Derozan / Ross
Gay / Fields
Millsap / Amir / Acy
Val / Gray

Love having Amir as the first big off the bench. Just don't know if they would take the 22+ owed to Bargnani. Another thing is how much would Millsap command in order to make a deal plausible.

Our team isn't that bad, but Casey isn't using our players right.

Ross in the dog house
Bargs getting minutes that should go to Acy
Fields is good enough to start vs NYK, but other then that he gets small minutes
Val not seeing 4th quarter minutes

Should Raps should consider Will Bynum for the backup PG roll?

Maybe make Earl Clark an Offer??

found a interesting article regarding the Jazz and S&T possibilities. If anyone wants to have a read, it lists us as one of the 4 most likely S&T partners.

http://www.slcdunk.com/2013/1/11/327721 ... -jefferson

some excerpts

That being said the Jazz have insisted that they do not feel compelled to make any trades at this time and there is a growing thought amongst the media and fanbase that the Jazz may wait until this summer and utilize their assets in sign-and-trade transactions instead.

The Luxury Tax amount for 2013-14 will not be known until about July 9, 2013 but it is assumed to be somewhere around $71m. For the purposes of this rule then, no team can complete a sign-and-trade with the Jazz if after it was completed, that teams total salaries amounted to more than $75m. Without a number of additional cap maneuvers this will effectively bar many of the teams that may be interested in acquiring Millsap, Jefferson or even Mo Williams in a sign-and- trade transaction.

i expect around 73 million but anyways...

Assuming that Jefferson and Millsap all would earn around $10m per season, the table shows the following 15 teams which would likely be able to have or create enough cap room to sign either guy without having to provide any compensation to Utah: Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indiana, Milwaukee, New Orleans, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento and San Antonio.

The following 10 teams are either at or near the Luxury Tax line and thus would be very difficult (if not completely forbidden) to make a sign-and-trade with: Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Denver, Golden State, LA Lakers, Memphis, Miami, New York, Oklahoma City.

That leaves a realistic sign-and-trade market to the following 4 teams: LA Clippers, Minnesota, Toronto, Washington.

I'd give up Terrence Ross and Bargnani if that's what it took in a sign and trade for Millsap. I think he'd be the perfect compliment to our starting lineup. I wouldn't mind getting Jefferson to play at the 4/5 beside JV either. Either deal would be great for us. I'm hoping we get something like this for a package including Bargnani... in BC i would trust again.

The first one isn't bad for us. We are in dire need of efficient offense from the outside and Anderson provides that. With the 2 swing men as the focal points, it is ideal to have a stretch 4 to provide spacing.

Having Amir as a backup is not being financially prudent with Fields and Bargs already commanding too much money. Can't have that much long term money tied up into your bench when Lowry is due for an extension.

There is a second option which is selling high on Derozan and getting a more offensively potent SG in return to offset Gay.

heres the problem. Lets say Utah wants to let Millsap walk because he wants 12 million per year

Bargnani makes 10,750,000 next season

Ross makes 2,678,640 next season

so why wouldnt they just keep Millsap then if hes actually costing them LESS than the package their receiving. I could see it if Bargnani is sent to a 3rd team for a cheaper PF in return. I agree with you though i think Millsap is PERFECT for our lineup..

Maybe you'd have to orient it around Ross and an expiring like Kleiza, with cash going the other way. Then amnesty Bargs to avoid the tax. MLSE would be paying a ton of money, so wouldn't happen I guess.

Why would they even take bargs, and allow us to keep the cheaper and better PF? If I am Utah, I would hang up if Amir is not mentioned in any Millsap deal.
