Big name like who? I guess, no. But he'd also have to hire a coach and ensure BC doesn't meddle on the day to day rotations.

Big name like Turkolgu, Fields, hell, if were lucky enough we'll see the return of Jamario Moon or Joey Graham.

HELL TO THE YES! the proof is in the pudding that BC sucks just look at the W/L record and when we made the playoffs we did NOTHING, also if TL really has championship aspirations there would be no reason to keep Lyin Bryan because his goal will always to be just make the playoffs and get bounced out the first round smh.

No, one of the most successful sports executives in the world doesn't lose credibility by keeping Colangelo. His record is all the credibility he needs. 71% of the board is insane.

Definitely NO.

Leiweke has proven that he's one of the best sports executives in the world. His "credibility" doesn't depend on Colangelo. You guys are letting your emotions cloud reality. Leiweke has done some great things in the sports world, he's not even officially on the job yet. His "credibility" can only be ruined if he is severely unsuccessful while he's an exec for MLSE by the end of his tenure.

Perhaps I'm a little more humble about my knowledge base as far as running a major corporation goes. I think BC should definitely be dismissed but if someone with TL's track record chooses to retain him in the short term I trust there would be some solid reasoning behind it. Personally I'm willing to give him a couple years proving he's clueless before I start believing I know better than him.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

He will lose A LOT credibility if he gives BC a multi year contract.

If people think that he'll lose credibility if he brings back BC, then those same fans will lose credibility if they continue following the team should such a situation occur.

You're so right.

Building a contender is a multiyear process, but a lot of posters here believe it can be done overnight. As I see it, Leiweke gets to do it his way until he shows his way doesn't work. If his way means keeping BC on for one more year, or canning him now, it's just the start of things, it's not his end game.

This thread lost credibility when you said "loose" instead of lose. I would say he doesn't lose credibility since it's a one year option. Both Casey and Colangelo would be highly motivated to keep their respective jobs and if they turn it around great if they don't you have a longer time period to find the right replacement. I don't think signing someone to a multi year contract right now without a thorough search is going to help. I'd rather give Colangelo that one year to see his vision through and give our organization that same year to find a replacement if he can't turn it around.

So Tim Leiweke can lose his credibility gained from years of running the most successful NA sports organization.. based on a decision that will occur before he is even officially hired? Got to love the internet  .

I think RealGM just lost all their credibility by even taking this thread seriously.

This is just my opinion and feel free to disagree, but If Colangelo is brought back then Leiweke does lose a little credibility because he is basically excusing the past five years of failure. The bigger issue is if Colangelo is back and has the same responsibilities (president and GM). Then Leiweke loses all credibility because BC is one of the worst GMs in the NBA and absolutely does not deserve that kind of autonomy and pay.

Apparently building a team that qualifies for the playoffs is a 5-year+ long process, so Bryan should be brought back. (an example of extremely high expectations)

Ever since the fields fiasco and throwing all that money at Nash, Ive questioned the direction of management. Maybe the end goal is to rake in cash and by those standards colangelo is still doing a good job cause the team is making money. Not to mention, he'll pitch that the team is young and on the rise and management might fall for it.

i really hope they just end it and bring in someone competent for once.

J Dilla wrote:What credibility does tim l have anyway? I'm pretty sure any crackhead would've had "credibility" if he worked for an owner that was willing to give a blank check for anything.

Tim L has had winning teams in NHL, ML soccer and been involved with NBA
He is trying to build a Championship culture. BC is the anti championship result.

As to the crackhead comment see Isiah Thomas with NYK he had blank check. Results? See M Jordan he could give himself a blank check but a great team has to have a great organization behind it. Tim L is here to bring that organization & hire staff to help get him along with the team to that level. BC has no Cred for doing any of this IMHO.

What don't we know about BC? What is 'yet to be determined'?
