Wow really? Haven't seen a new logo I would like myself, but current one is the worst. Anything could be better. Its been long time, it grew on people, they don't see how ridiculous that logo is anymore (i assume), but seriously.

First of all, the name Raptor is just dumb. Whatever, could they at least make a dynamic, credible logo? Current logo looks like a character from a bad 80's cartoon. All hes missing is sunglasses, and he would be just like Poochie the rapping dog. He looks like hes about to sing about how bad drugs are, it is that bad, look at it.

that dino's not on the uniform anywhere. the claw logo is good, i like the clean black, red, white combo, the silver chevrons, and the tasteful but distinctive font.

i agree w/most people in that it's slightly generic. if it has to change, i'd rather see it change after a winning season or two.

I like the claw as well, its great. Why chevrons are even there by the way? I dont get it.
Main logo has to go tho. Ok, it is not the only silly logo, but it is the worst. Celtics logo at least has history, its from silver age. It still looks better, professional. Everything about Raptors logo is bad. Drawing style and colors are terrible.

Now about the Husky from _venom_

I am not a big fan. I assume it suppose to be a secondary logo, doesn't seem like a primary. This style works better on a very small scale IMO.
I assume you borrowed it? You haven't made it from the scratch? It looks like you added Canadian leaf to already existing logo. Logo is so ''roundy'', while the leaf is not, looks out of place.

I don't know why we don't beg the folks from the movie Jurasic Park to use one of the images from the film? Maybe the one where the guy is hunting them and one of the Raptors swings around and catches him? Or when they were trying to eat kids in Kitchen? I was Plenty scared of them at that point!

I understand history and Huskies place, plus it is a very cold weather dog. I can live with either one but not the constant dialog.

The Organization just needs to come out and pick one for good!!! $hit or get off the pot!

Nope.

That's only one species of Dromaeosauridae, which contains Raptor in its name. The term Raptor, in laymen terms, refers to Dromaeosauridae.

Dromaeosauridae is a family of bird-like theropod dinosaurs. They were small- to medium-sized feathered carnivores that flourished in the Cretaceous Period. The name Dromaeosauridae means 'running lizards', from Greek dromeus (δρομευς) meaning 'runner' and sauros (σαυρος) meaning 'lizard'. In informal usage they are often called raptors[3] (after Velociraptor), a term popularized by the film Jurassic Park; a few types include the term "raptor" directly in their name and have come to emphasize their supposed bird-like habits.

These Dinosaurs are generally thought of as one of the most feared hunters during the dinosaur period due to their speed. They also hunt in small groups, one of the few species to do that if i'm not mistaken.

As you can see, Raptors were very real, and they were badass.

Term raptor refers to a velociraptor.

it was a dinosaur of prey, however was also know as a scavanger.

I dont know a pack of 5 or 10 of those is pretty damn badass........

But the leaf was Ad-libbed later? You could blend it. Look at your husky ''eyebrows'', doesn't it kinda looks like the left and the right side of the leaf already? All its missing is a top piece, a lil white fur on a forehead. You could make it look like a leaf.

There's only so many ways to design the same thing, especially an animal without having some similarities

That's definitely something I could do. I made the leaf more jagged originally just because I wanted to make the husky a little more "tough" looking. I was worried too many soft edges would go against that.

It's all fine when it's a drunken leprechaun. When is it's a drunken t-rex(cause that's not a flippin raptor!) it all goes to pot....

If we want to go in another direction why not dump both Raptors and Huskies (though nothing against the OP - that picture is great).

What about Toronto Arrows, modeled after the Avro Arrow, which was a pinnacle of Canada's 20th century achievements. Its specific time in history means a lot of possibilities re: time period font, motive, etc. Not to mention, fighter jets are always badass. Introducing this as a new team name would fit in well with the team's efforts to reach out more broadly to the rest of Canada.

Or what about references to Ontario's and Canada's defence from the US in the war of 1812? Toronto Militia or Toronto Loyalists. Logos of people from a specific time period are also pretty classic (pirates, senators, patriots, etc.) as long as they don't go cartoony.

But basically:

Raptors < Huskies < Anything else.

You're kidding right.

Raptors are a way better name than ANYTHING you suggest.

I can't stand this Husky fad. Am I the only one who absolutely hates it?

What kind of childhood did some you guys have? Dinosaur trumps dog!

Maybe if it wasn't a fictitious Dinosaur.

Guys, I'm not really into the Husky either but it doesn't really matter. We're over thinking things here because our team stinks. Is the name 'Bulls' really that great? How about Nuggets or Wizards or Kings or Nets or Bobcats? If you ask me, which you didn't, those names all kind of suck . On the other hand Heat is a pretty great name as is Celtics. So there goes that point, guys. Right out the Godammned window. You see what I'm saying though...

Return to Toronto Raptors
