Well a couple of things

1) half our board would trade players after one bad game.

2) I nominate myself as the trading/cap guy in this hypothetical situation.

3) 30 million won't get you anything.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Most of us make well into the six and seven figures, have 9/10 wives with a bunch of mistresses and have three car garages. This should be easy to do IMO.

With 30 million we can pay Durant for one year. Then he will get us a championship and then all the city's people will support the Raptors and Tim will stay.

I find my evaluation of 30,000 posters to be fair, got to remember this will be done in the future and not this year. Also, our arena is always at max. capacity and our TV numbers are high. I think 30,000 posters is being fair.

If we cant buy the Raptors or the Bucks, how about buying an NHL team and bringing them to Toronto. After a decade of making that Maple Leaf money, we could then buy the Raps.

There is a right way to do this, but your suggestion is not the way to do it. There are people reading this right now that know how to get it done and have the resources to at least put together a serious proposal to buy at least some part of the Raptors. Buying a controlling portion as you suggest is not possible until such a portion is made available... and if that were the case then the guys sitting around with their proposals already in place would sweep in and take it before something like this could even start to take some shape.

It's a long long process but you need to be ready and then sit and wait.

The other thing is you don't get every member of the trust to have a vote in everything the Raptors need to do. You already have Masai handling things. For things the owner needs to handle, you put a board in place capable of handling those duties.

It's not impossible. Also I'd pay the trust managers a nice bonus for not allowing BC supporters to take part in this initiative.

Bargni wrote:If all our posters each contributed $1000 to a fund operated by the Mods, and our estimated 30,000 posters x $1000 each = $30 Million, enough to buy part of the Raptors. Lets NBA guys and get er done someday. We will then vote on motions to make trades, signings, etc.

What would your first motions be?

My motions;
1. Limit amount of time Leo Rautins talks
2. All Raps games to be on cable and not TSN2
3. Erase all references to Rob Babcock from Raps history
4. Bring back VC (good for money)
5. Email Brian Colangelo about possible job opportunity to be mop girl

How many out of those 30K accounts are our Russian friends with nice jerseys and very nice quality NBA jersey? Actually, I'm sure they have a ton of money they can contribute given all the jerseys they've sold

seriously thou, if the Packers can do it, why can't we.. that team is worth $2B+ with 350,000+ shareholders

treat it like a mutual fund (with 1 stock)- put together a investment group within the city (300K people, stock price b/w $2-3K), appoint CEO (Masai), build championship and profit!
