Yeah, so let's attach ourselves with a color that represents true class... gold.

Like putting your passion, energy, time, and expectations into something other than yourself (i.e., a sports team) is a grown up thing to do in the first place?

Sports is a modern day religion. A way for communities to come together, connect across generations, celebrate, and let off steam. Yes it's somewhat stupid but there's more to it than just being a childish fascination.

Cannot wait to see his collab with Mitchell and Ness! If he uses the dino I will buy it.

How quickly he removes himself from something that doesn't go well.

He had nothing to do with We the North either but you never heard him tweet that.

Drake hasn't, but has any Raptor come forward saying something positive about the rebrand?

Bro.. how could you and your team allow this logo to happen? So disappointed! There must have been better designs..

Unless I missed it I don't think anyone claimed that he worked on the We the North Stuff. So how could he deny it in the first place?

Don't believe everything you see and read lol...Lets think about this logically. The alternative logo is OVO black and gold. These colors are trademarked by Drake's brand right? At the very least he had to okay the colors for the logo. I don't buy for one second he wasn't involved in the design process especially since the day before the release he was hyping it up...At the very least he had to okay the colors meaning that is part of the design and the last time I checked adding color is a parting of designing...We can't blame one person for this blunder the whole "design team" dropped the ball...

The question of who is lying between Cathal and Drake is still not clear. Neither is it clear whether that logo is that of a cracked basketball or a watermelon.

You can't "trademark" a two-colour scheme... are you joking? No one needs to check with ANYONE for an okay to use black & gold for anything.. you have be a harrrrd OVO groupie to actually believe that.

Do you even live in this world? Colors like "leafs blue" and "tiffany green/blue" are trademarked/have patents...so is Raptors red and Purple lol...you can trademark shades of colors that you "invent"!!!! In order for a major corp. to use those colors they need to PAY MONEY (drake gets paid when we use his gold and black lol)...its not the same as painting your bedroom leafs blue using a color matching system at home depot (even then they need permission and approval to use those colors)...Any legit company will not risk a law suit they will pay when they use other peoples intellectual property. If you made the OVO brand would you let other uses "your colors" for free and at will? This would devalue your brand....Hell even fonts are trademarked everything is today...go to home depot and see if two companies will even have same names for similar colors of paint they dont, because Bher paid will patent its colors and so will B.Moore...LOL I aint no OVO groupie I don't even support Drake

Well duh! Of course Drake wasn't involved in the logo redesign.

If he was, it would say Drakes below the green watermelon!

Has nothing to do with growing up or 'kiddy' stuff.

This franchise is about to ruin their classic brand by selling out for a generic one - that many fans and seasoned supporters will not identify with but many casual/non-basketball fans will pay top dollar for because of Aubrey's involvement.

While some associate this rebrand with growing up, I only see another franchise selling out.

Maybe I am in the minority here but I have found the dino and the claw an embarrassment since the inception of the franchise. It was a complete rip off of a movie that was popular at the time. I understand why they did it, we needed kids to be interested in basketball.

On top of that....purple....

These former kids will see this in a nostalgic light but for those of us who have cringed every time that dino shows its mug, it is a breath of fresh air.

I guess it comes down to a matter of perspective...and age. I for one will be over joyed to see the rear end of that damn dino.

I mean, who the hell designed this?

Purple is an overall awful color that cannot be worn in public, unless you're attending an actual Raptors game. My red Raptors warmup jacket still has people commenting at the checkout line....people identify with red now. Gold as an alternative will be okay.

Second, the new logo really is pretty great the more I see it. It's the team logo. I mean, you can't escape the team name of Raptors....yeah it sucks, but there's no denying 20,000 people inside, and thousands outside chanting "Let's go Raptors". We're beyond kiddy dinosaurs....the logo is simple and effective and something we can wear for years to come without feeling embarrased to do so.

When you're 34 like me - you can't wear that dino logo or claw logo. Gotta keep it simple.
