He looks better as a faceup big, but I guess if he improves his footwork, he can be quicker. But definitely the beardless Jonas is what I prefered.

Bearded Jonas looks like a mountain man or a terrorist.

I'm shocked the board didn't pick up on Devlin calling him Big Cyrus and using that instead.

if jonas was still skinny, he'd barely get any minutes out there because he would be abused routinely by most big men… and you all would be talking about how he needs to gain some weight because he gets pushed around too easily.

OK, but why did the Raptors force Jonas to bulk-up so quickly? Why couldn't he fill up his frame naturally and keep his mobility? They literally turned him into another Euro stiff.

uhhh… in 27 minutes he's averaging 12 points 9 boards 1.2 blocks on 55% shooting. he also currently has a PER of 19.9… and he's only 22… that's your definition of "another Euro stiff?" are you suggesting that if he kept the same weight from his rookie season, he'd be MORE EFFECTIVE than he is now? i mean if those extra pounds that he gained are the difference between him being a 12/9/1.2/19.9 PER player and a 20/12/2 superstar big man like anthony davis, then yes, you're absolutely right he should've stayed a skinny twig.

Sure, he could stand to lose a few, but even at his lightest, he wasn't much of an athlete at the NBA level. He was always mechanical and rigid with his movements, and far from explosive. The way some people reminisce about those days you'd think he was David Robinson 2.0. His offensive inconsistency isn't a product of being weighed down IMO, it's tied to predictability, confidence, and awareness - when to trust left hand, when to finish with urgency before D recovers, etc. He'll be fine - unless he gets the gout, of course.

Bros are brosciencing again up in here. Forget he has a bunch of speciality coaches (aka experts with qualifications beyond a post count) in the offseason working on basketball, conditioning, and mobility related issues.

No, lets instead assume he was busy dirty bulking and keg partying.

I still think that Jonas would get steamrolled in the post most nights if teams were game planning for him. He needs to speed up his decision making process more than his feet. If he had the brain of Chuck Hayes on defence he'd be fine.

bulk up next year so I can play you more minutes

psyche. you're too slow to play in the 4th now. hit the bench fatty.

Though there's just one thing that's bugging me. Where are his moves that he learned from Hakeem ? I remember he used some of them in the world cup and a bit in preseason, but I don't see any of them this season.

I already debunked this myth in another thread. Dude has no excess "weight".

Does look like someone who needs to lose weight? That was in the off-season too so you know for a fact he's already slimmer than there.

Considering how people are so creative here with theories, vids, images, avs and sigs, there is a serious void in terms of wordplay and nicknames. It's just one lame name after another.

Maybe success does stifle creativity?
