I like Chandler and he fits with the starting lineup, but realistically how much is he going to improve the team? I'd probably hold onto Ross and look for a deal in the summer rather than settle for Chandler.
It doesn't seem like they are actively shopping Faried right now, but he is the guy I'd be going hard at. With the extension and Denver being a tire fire right now he is a devalued asset. He still has strides to make defensively and obviously isn't Al Jefferson down low, but I think he still had a lot of upside for what he is. I think it was last season where he had shown some progress with his post game so it isn't as though he is Reggie Evans or something.
I think the World Cup and the playoffs under George Karl showed how valuable he could be in the right situation. With the cap rising I don't think that contract is going to be as bad as it may look right now.
I'm not sure what we'd be able to net with Ross though. We'll be hard pressed to get any young player with good potential..unless it's a low end player like Tyler Ennis or something, who may turn out to be another nobody. Not to mention, our team is more in a win-now position than trading for projects.
Trading for any star will require the addition of picks or better players to go along with Ross, making Ross just a small piece of the puzzle. He'd never be the main package, so we may not need him to pull off such a trade in the first place.
It seems to me that a Wilson Chandler type player is his trade value. We can wait and see if he improves/develops, but if he doesn't, his value will decrease. The older he gets, the less likely teams will be trading for his "potential".
