The King's front office is too dumb to be afraid. JV, Ross, Fields, Hayes and 2016 first round pick for Boogie + Stauskas.

If we trade for Boogie and sign Larry Sanders....

Demarcus Cousins / Larry Sanders / James Johnson / Demar Derozan / Kyle Lowry

with
Lou Williams, GV, Patrick Patterson and Amir Johnson off the bench.... here comes an NBA championship

JV is getting better and better every year. He's putting up 16.5ppg and 11.7rpg per 36 with a 20 PER. He's only 21. I know he has his flaws, especially on D, but I think it will be a mistake to trade him right now.

22 actually, played pro prior to NBA and international ball every year.

If we are talking about a proven all-star you do it.

This depends on who's viewed as a "star". Jonas is going to be an amazing player in a few years and will most likely end up with the best career of all the players on the current roster. You don't give him up for someone like Faried. They better be getting back a legit superstar if they trade him. Cousins would be the perfect fit on this team.

I agree, but if you're getting someone like cousins in return you do it.

I would trade him, it looks like the Raptors are going to keep Casey over JV so JV's never gonna play 4th quarter mins with the way he plays so we might as well trade him while his value is high.

There's no mistake, as good as he can be his ceiling is still lower than Cousins current level.

Personally, I’m a fan of Highland Park- it’s my favorite scotch. Woodfords’ Reserve is my favorite bourbon. Drink them as I may, I still don’t see the Raps trading question marks like Ross and JV for anything approaching a star. So if any of you here think the Raptors are going to be trading away kids with upside, and that other teams will be taking question marks for hall of famers, please let me know what your favorite poison is, because I might want to give it a try!

The thought of trading Val, unless it's for Cousins, really scares me.

Take a look back at trades for superstars. The Raptors definitely have more than enough to land a superstar and JV in a package with Ross will get it done. They will have to maybe add a couple of pieces, but JV is a huge trading chip. I have no idea why he's so undervalued around here.

His displeasure with the media is mostly the AMERICAN media isn't it? Maybe he should check out how the nice Canadian media do it up here! Plus, with Russ winning the MVP last night, there's going to be absolutely no chill in his game going forward. Not that there ever really was any chill in RW's game, but it's going to be amplified even more now. That could lead to KD getting shut out more on offense, and growing frustrated?

JV/Ross/Lou Will/Fields/2015 1st/2016 NYK 1st for KD and filler if needed.

TBH thats actually not a horrible haul for OKC if they were to have to trade KD

I'd be confused by a move where Toronto gives up JV and others for Cousins. That would be an all in move for a guy that could very well DESTROY chemistry. Masai witnessed last season what happens with chemistry because of one guy. It would require Toronto to reconsider its offensive and defensive strategies, much like it refuses to do for Jonas. What does Cousins offer that the team currently misses, according to many posters on the board? Better defense? Maybe slightly but with how we play defense, our best defensive line-ups would still be without Cousins. You could just as easily play out the 4th quarters using Cousins like how we use JV. And if we don't really use our bigs all that much on offense, really what are we getting? Our offense is one of the best in the league, why would they change it to heavy usage inside? That's the argument typically given for why Jonas doesn't see the ball more, I don't see why Cousins would be any different.

Cousins is young and very good, but I don't see him as a piece you build around simply because of his personality. Toronto would have to be the place where he gained maturity, but there's no indication he's on that path right now at all. With that in mind, and acknowledging the fact that Jonas isn't a superstar either, then both would have to be the second guys next to a true superstar. It's not necessarily a lateral move to get Cousins, because Cousins is so good, but with how Cousins behaves it very well may turn out that way. That would be quite a risk in my mind.
