Hoping for Duke?????? Nooooooo thank!
Coach Cal is much more likable to me than Coach K lol.
The man is just a realist, but maybe I might be biased since I've shaken his hand haha.. but he seems like a good guy & great coach.

Even College Basketball knows its product sucks. Thats why they are to starting to change its rules to be more like the NBA.

Again....leave this negativity out of here please. The NBA has been changing their rules too.. I guess they know their product sucks too by your logic.
How were the rule changes more like the NBA? They stopped rewarding secondary defenders for trying to take a flop rather than challenge the defender.. something the NBA doesn't really address. They also discussed FEWER timeouts... opposite of what the NBA has been doing (more timeouts). They're trying to go for no live-ball timeouts... way more like FIBA & not like NBA at all... they even opposed the NBA's crappy inconsistent "continuation" calls.
...I pretty much ignore the NBA during March Madness... since the last month of the NBA is usually a lull until the playoffs (82 games in the season, teams resting, etc... give me the NCAA March Madness with every game being an elimination game over that for a good break please)

Oh and FIBA rules >>> NBA rules... NBA rules are designed for Western fans who love superstar play over team play.. so that's an unfortunate thing.

Anyways.. not gonna keep this rant going. Hardcore basketball fans can appreciate any the collegiate level, especially if they've played at the HS/local college level themselves.

Carry on & go to another topic if you're not into college basketball.

What you call negativity I call an opinion. Thats what a message board is designed for. Just because you don't like what I said doesn't make it negative. As long as they end up cutting the shot clock like they have been discussing would be a huge postive step.

Well, maybe the officiating aspect, but the rules aren't that bad, and consider they are not professional (not a full time athlete).
Similarly, you can't compare cross checking for junior league hockey, which people may find professional league more physical in that aspect.

But again, I think the most difficult part would be the officiating, as you are not always having the resources of replaying the incident.

Reason why I had BYU going to the Sweet 16 was how potent their offense was with the Motion offense they run keeping the floor spread with an army of shooters that could snipe any defense. They were really like the SSOL Suns. But they went cold in the second half, made unforced turnovers and couldn't keep Moody out of the lane which was unfortunate. They played an exciting brand of basketball, but not really sustainable.

Talking about overranked, Duke is underserving of the #1 seed; should've went to Zona. They lost to Miami at home pretty badly, to NC State and the ACC tournament which shouldn't have made up for their wins on the road during conference play.

It's negativity when the thread is called "March Madness Thread" & the first thing you say is "College basketball sucks".
That kinda thing isn't what a message board is designed for. That could satisfy the definition for trolling.
The message board is designed for civil discussion of topics. You've set a negative tone within it already... so yes. That is negativity... it's an opinion.. opinions can be negative. What you said absolutely makes it negative. You said the word "sucks". If you didn't wanna sound negative you could've made your statement more like an opinion by saying "college basketball isn't for me".

You went out of your way, knowing there would be March Madness fans in it,to go into the topic.. click reply & say "College Basketball sucks." as your first sentence... probably with the intention to get some people riled up unreasonably.

If an extra 10 seconds on the shot clock bugs you.. Canadian University basketball uses a 24-second shot clock.
I have a little more patience & don't mind the extra 11 seconds... as it's more in tune with the kind of basketball I play recreationally.. so I enjoy it.

Anyone know if there's any way to make different brackets on yahoo for each pool you join or will it just be one bracket altogether?

March Madness is fun as hell, especially because it's just a 1 game series and anything can happen. This year I feel like Kentucky has an easy championship because there's no talent on other teams.

But I prefer NBA Playoffs > March Madness

Hey, if you & your whole pool are interested in joining a larger one with a bit more of a balanced scoring system (Yahoo default scoring is way flawed IMO, played it in previous years..) feel free to join mine! I've got 15 members already.
I'll make it public for this last hour to sign up if you're interested.

Yeah, I stuck with one bracket on 4 pools. I was thinking of making a different for one pool but decided against it. ;)

In my group I'm the only one to pick UAB. And we're using point differential + Yahoo standard, so that's 11 points nobody else gets. :D
