Its getting better and better. This year it passes 2K. Everyone is getting sick of 2k they put out the same game every year. I know people who played 2K like a religion try Live and Live Ultimate Team and they are jumping ship. They cleaned up the little things wrong with last years game and they actually listen to the fans. The content they drop is endless.

IMO, theres definitely a bias towards boosting the ratings of players on "big market" teams on 2k games. JV had a rating of 67 in his rookie season as the 5th pick while this unknown big man has a rating of 75. Also, just for comparison, Bargnani's rating was below 70 in his rookie season. Also, Shumpert has always had a 78 rating as a knick while DeMar had a similar rating until he became an allstar last season. Im pretty sure DeMar is a far better player.

I used to be a huge roster patcher. I do a complete roster reedit every time I buy a new Basketball game. I used to know where every player plays and everything because of it, but I haven't bought basketball title in quite a few years, so my NBA knowledge got a little rusty, I have to admit.
Used to make NBA, Euroleague and FIBA rosters, made a lot of patches for NBA live series.

Till this day, every time I think of player, I think what his rating would be in game

I made pro sport into a geeky thing. I have a set scale, from NBA superstar to Euroleague scrub, I know where would their rank. This is a big reason why I abandoned 2k series really, their player rating scale is completely different from mine (their ratings tend to be much higher on average), and I am too old to readapt

Just Download it and make your own name for it and when you want to play quick match press Triangle and search for the roster

Blazers should probably be worse. CAVS is a bit low at number 6, Rockets as a bit too high at 3. Seems pretty accurate tho.

The ratings are always a mess.

The statistics in the videogames are simply not robust enough to consider anything beyond individual play pretty much.

So the assumption is good stats from last year = good skills that translate into any situation, which doesn't make much sense.

If basketball were as simple as adding up the sum of the parts (the sum of the players) it would rank teams like 2K lol.

And yea they do overrate certain market players a ton.

Anyway, I bought 2K15 last year for PS4, and I don't plan on buying another 2K for a long time..... unless Durant comes to Toronto in 2016.... then I will buy NBA 2K17 lmao.
