He's not very good folks jeez.

6' 10" wingspan and 8' 10" reach, undersized!

Can't shoot the 3, he's a 32% SHOOTER on 2 attempts a game

Can't rebound. Averaged 6rpg in 32 mpg

Why exactly are you folks creaming for him exactly? We need a stretch big who can rebound and the queefer can't do either.

How would Markieff be a rental? He's locked up till 2019 for 8 mill a year which is basically nothing for what he produces compared to what guys are getting now. We'd need to throw in picks to get him if anything. No way they deal him for Ross straight up.

$8 mil per is a good deal for the good Morris.

Trading him for Ross might not be even salary wise, but that's the thing, if they're looking to move him then cutting $5.5 mil off their payroll has to be worth something too - so sweetening our side with picks doesn't make sense, unless it's got super high conditions.

He was better the previous season to last, and while he's a decent PF, he strikes me as being in the mold of Juwan Howard, where he does his thing without having a huge impact on the game. Not a needle mover, really, but on a different team with different directives, you never know. I've never noticed a particularly high motor when catching Suns games, and his rebs+blocks are a little lower than I'd like to see. Jones would be my first choice, but Morris would be OK, especially on a somewhat value deal like he is in.

I dont like it, bad defensive stats. Jones is a way better fit for us. Id trade 2 1st's for terrence jones in a heart beat

He's certainly not the perfect fit but beggars can't be choosers. If the Suns are willing to take Ross for Morris you take it.

Yes. This is true, I'm not saying he's a poor player he'd just be a much better fit beside a Defensive Rebounding Center (like Tyson Chandler). But if you can get Ross for him why not. I wouldn't mind sending Patterson for Lyles too and have a PF rotation of:
Morris, Lyles, JJ (get some 4 mins).

You're talking out of your ass about his defense. He's not a great rim protector, but there are far more elements involved in defense. He's excellent in PnR and at guarding post ups.

Suns defense was miles better with him on the court. If anything he'll shine in Casey's system. Rebounding isn't as big of a concern either with Val, Biyombo, and Carroll.

My worries about Markieff are on the defensive end with rebounding. If we want a stretch 4, I think we may be better off with Terrence Jones. At least with Jones, we're gonna get some defense as well.

I really liked him the times I watched him. He is the modern four with his shooting, plus he is a quick cover on the pick and roll. He has improved every year he has been in the league and his contract is moveable. That is almost the exact same thing you can say about Patterson, who is roughly the same age and a better shooter. I'd go Patterson full time rather than trading for a guy with the a slightly weaker skillset.

In all honesty, I would prefer to trade for PJ Tucker over Markieff Morris. I know we need a PF badly, but Morris is just a bit too inadequate for my liking. He doesn't protect the rim and he doesn't rebound, much like Patterson (PP is actually a better shot-blocker). His mid-range shot would be very useful for our team, but I don't it's enough.

Tucker is a great role-player though. He's tough as nails and is an adequate shooter/passer. I would trade Ross for him and worry about our PF spot later.

Ross for Gibson, however, is still the ideal trade. A PF with great overall defense and a mid-range shot like him is what we need.

I wouldn't say he's the one that gives you that successful off season feeling, but he does contribute to Casey's small ball agenda.

PHX would most likely want a 1st rounder in return as well as Ross. I don't see Markieff fitting Caseys philosophy, might as well forget about him.
