My pick is Terrance Ferguson. That kid is a young, long wing player with a gorgeous jump shot. His worst case scenario looks like a 3+D guy to me. I'm surprised he hasn't been ranked in the top-10.

Holy crap. You just blew my frickin' mindhole.

Clippers could sink rly fast with thr injury history of chris paul and blake griffin. it would be nice for us to get a 15-22 pick from the clippers and them masai drafts a shooter who is hungry like pasca siakim who also plays defence. Bruno and nougeria are as good as gone by the time the season is over

Honestly people keep looking at our Big Men Rotation, but id be looking for a proper SF to hopefully replace Carroll one day. Ross is not a SF.

Unless someone falls who Masai just can't pass up on, it will likely be a SF, or PF. Blossomgame is my early choice, due to his production as a junior and older age(23 already) which jives well with trying to keep guys around who can produce before Lowry declines.

No handles at all according to DraftExpress. Looks like a freak athlete though and a defensive stopper, which is something this team lacks.

At the 15+ range you definitely want to take the best player available/most talented, rather than positional need.
You gotta gamble a bit to draft well in the late round, most of those picks are not in the lottery because those players have some kind of flaw
(etc higher age leading to a lower ceiling, shorter height/wing span, poor jump shot, lack of defense)

But good scouting can usually lead to a quality pick. Doesn't matter if it's another PG or PF, you want a guy that has a chance to become a stud.

Siakam and Powell are prime examples of quality pick ups after lottery.
If raptors can grab one of those guys every draft they'll be in a good position

You always take best player available regardless of where you pick. You don't pass up on Drummond, or Iggy for Ross and Hoffa because you don't want a center or athletic wing that year.

And just remember we got this pick AND Norman Powell form Milwaukee for Vazquez. Life is good.

Can we get an explanation of the picks in the first post?

What they are, who they belong to and what the restrictions are?

No more draft picks.

I think you may be disappointed. I expect Masai to keep looking for rookie contracts to fill out the bench like Norm, Poeltl, Siakam and maybe Delon at some point. Saves money for re-signing Lowry and rookies who make the rotation of winning teams likely have good value around the league.

How much more filling does the bench need? the Bench is well taken care of, it's some of the people who are on the court that we could use the upgrade on. I get the feeling Masai doesn't want to trade unless he's sure he won't get criticised, but to me, the potential of these picks goes down if there's already 2 4 year guys on guaranteed money, waiting for a shot, 3rd year guys waiting for minutes, and two 2nd years guys, taking up the young guy minutes in the front court. I'm not even sure the math wrks on the guaranteed deal we have to add two more players. You count Bruno & Bebe, Norm & Delon, Pascal and Jacob, and add two more and and that 8 men of a 15 man Roster.

I mean, we have FVV, Bebe, Bruno, Delon, Powell, Siakam, Poeltl, Joseph, Carroll, Ross, JV, DeMar, I'm sure we try to bring back Kyle, I imagine we try to bring back Pat, since his other than his bird rights, the MLE is the only way we add a pf. So that's 14. to make both picks, means we'd have to cut a guy before the season begins, unless some trade is done. But if you're going to do a trade, to me, it'd be silly not to use a pick to sweeten the return. I know Powell isn't guaranteed next year (Bruno and Bebe have more guaranteed money next year than Powell) and I imagine FVV isn't fully guaranteed next year either, but you're losing out on either guaranteed money, that will cost you more due to tax level, or a good player to use the picks that don't project at this time, to be very high anyway.

one pick is ours - no strings attached

the other pick is the Clippers pick. We get it unless they miss the playoffs. If they miss the playoffs and are in the lottery, this year and next, then I think we get two seconds instead. ( i may be wrong on that, as it may just be if they miss the playoffs this year we get two seconds)

Then why did we just pick their options up to guarantee them for next year, when we didn't have to?

I have little faith in bruno at this point. I still think Bebe can be an NBA player but he'll probably never get consistent minutes here. I'm all for using both our picks to replace those guys

Personally, if we use those picks, I'm going to hope for more than replacing the non roles of Bruno and Bebe.

I'm looking for the pick to be used on a SF to replace Carroll in a couple years. Blossomgame, Onunoby(if he slides), Ferguson etc.

You're right that someone eventually gets moved. I'm looking for Masai to move some combination of Ross, Patterson, Norm, Bruno, Bebe, Delon and possibly a pick. I think Masai may not like dealing picks and prospects in general though. Remember he made his career as a scout. I believe he did it for free for a time before finally getting his shot, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of emotional attachment, or point of pride when it comes to the draft.
I have no issue with moving assets for an upgrade to the starting lineup, but I certainly wouldn't do it for veteran bench players.

I hope under the new CBA we get extended rosters, with the D-league being a part of it. That way we can send down our rookies to develop while still competing...
