Naw higher up positions like that is usually given in house. Someone is probably going to be asked to apply from within the company. High ranking jobs like this are too important to trust to new blood.

But I agree all those other mid-level and entry level jobs are usually given to friends or family. That's low key why so many employers in canada stress networking. People you know get you in and once your in you can only go up.

Unfortunately my network sucks, filled with inaction and excuses. If I do anything in life it will be based on my own hard work. I've stopped relying on people.

But yeah its possible they probably found someone in the company already for this role, I see all these postings at work that are available to the public, but they only end up hiring within. Some postings are created after they have already made their decision - probably to satisfy a company policy or something. Sucks for the guy outside who applied who had his hopes up.

Just an FYI for your RGMr's.
I did ask my friend who works there.... it is fairly an Entry level job, so you guys shouldn't be afraid to apply, especially if you are a fresh uni grad. It might be a great way to get into sports.

This is not a high-ranking job. It's a coordinator role that asks for "2 years experience in a professional capacity". Hardly a senior executive role of some sort.

Don't psych yourself or others out.

When it comes to job applications, it's actually a true statement that you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

I would say quit applying in Canada. You have a degree and good work experience move to any city in US. Anyone can work for government or any great organization. There is too much stress in Canada. Even if you get through some 10 stupid interviews for the same f*king job. You are a replaceable minion. I lived in Toronto for 15 years before I packed by bags and said F**k Canada. I am enjoying life here in US with 6 figure. I have no interest going back to Canada. I rather be in Mexico or any other city.
