It can be argued that he's had more big moments in key wins than moments like that game, where he missed bunny after bunny. No doubt he would show more aggression and grit than what Marc is providing in this series, not to mention help on the glass...

Do you remember the year we took 2 games off the champs in the ECF?

JV was injured and it was thanks to Biz.
With JV we lost 8 straight vs the Cavs. He wasn't exactly a playoff stud who led us to good results.

i know he would have no problem scoring on Tobias Harris.

It was a good trade he fortified the defense.

As for offense that’s on coach nurse for not involving him more.

lmao it was not because of JV we lost 8 straight, Demar disappeared and Kyle got hurt. He's actually put him decent numbers in the playoffs. He was playing like a beast to start the season, draymond the donkey happened and then he played like a beat for Memphis

Here's a secret for you, JV's overall defensive stats have been better than Marc this season: viewtopic.php?t=1802716

How exactly has providing no rim protection, help side defense or rebounding solidified our defense? I question if some of you are actually watching the game or listening to the nonsense the media is spewing out.

Lowry is can't be a member of a big anything

Unless it's the big 3 of choking

I wouldn't have been opposed to trading Lowry at the deadline too.

This board is overly emotional. Moderation is needed - important to stay centred and not let the highs get you too high or the lows too low. Delon was leaving anyways while Gasol has given us some quality defense and other things that don't always show up on the stat-sheet. Naturally, when he doesn't play well and we lose, then you guys are quick to bury the guy.
Perhaps it's not too surprising considering how most of the TV pundits do the same - flipping and flopping after one game.
KD scores 50 - he's the best player in the NBA.
KD and warriors lose to Beverly and KD is over-rated, lucky to have Steph and Klay.
Just like this series. We win game 1 - Raps in 5. Now, we lose game 3 and watch these same people claim we won't be able to win another game...

JV sucks.

Losing Delon was the only issue with that trade. But even if we had Delon, Nurse wouldn't play him, so I'm not sure it matters.

JVs defence was a huge reason why we sucked.

JV always showed up and stepped up in the playoffs when Kyle and Demar choked. Would have loved to see him on this version of team with Kawhi and Siakam.

"playoff JV" would be injured or in foul trouble. Yes Gasol's been poor but he completely changed this offence.
For lease.

I thought we made the Gasol trade so we could become the best three point shooting team in the nba and that's what happened.

JV defense was not that bad and he had demar and ibaka gaurding the pf and sg positions for heaven's sakes, not pascal and danny green and kawhi at the SF spot. JV's defense this season has been better than Gasol's. Stop thinking this is 2013.

Your words fall on dead ears. Today is not a good day to highlight Marc's strengths.

There is no denying JV would have been helpful on the glass, where we are currently getting destroyed. Not to mention passing up shot after shot.

People also forget facts that we played one of the easiest schedules post gasol trade, easy to look like a stud on offense when you play the Knicks, bulls and other trash teams tanking to get Zion...I laugh everytime people bring up our three point shooting post the trade deadline and forget who we were playing.

Seriously fans need to learn to look at the context when they here the media spewing out nonsense.

Marc Gasol had a .245 WS/48, 7.7 BPM, and 0.5 VORP in the playoffs heading into this game. Quite the downfall.
