For the right offer I'd move him. He'll always struggle against bigger lineups, anything above 15/year is crazy. He's a great third guard not more not less.

Strongly agree. Lowry is an amazing floor general. FVV will never be one.

As much as I loved the guy and the way he played in the finals- I am inclined to let him walk and save that money for bigger fish in 2021. To me he is not a starting PG, and he struggles against the bigger guards given his size. I would bring him back maybe for the contract Powell got (10 million a year for 3 or 4 years), and nothing more.

You pay for future performance in 99% of cases. You have to ask yourself - are you ever actually going to get more value from FVV than we did in last years playoffs? I suspect not - to the point that I would consider moving him if there is value to be found.

I love Fred and it’s not impossible he elevates but I think he just has foundational restricts on his upside no matter how hard he works.

It's the same ****.

But our homes are better and people here have more money to keep our a$$es warmer.

The houses in Rockford remind me of the houses we have in Niagara Falls. Really old, poorly maintained, wood cladding homes with no basements.

He’s going to want 4 years 60 million at minimum. That’s a hard contract to sign especially next summer when your looking to preserve cap space for 2021.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

We're likely not going to be signing anyone with our capspace in 2021 anyway.

It's all nonsense and hype.

We'll max out Pascal, re-sign Van Vleet to a generous amount, and likely re-sign one (or both) of Lowry and Gasol to multi-year deals. I think we'll let Ibaka walk.

Masai is slow and steady and will always be on the lookout for a trade... and if we improve the team, it will be via trade (not a free agency signing). Masai is not good at the free agency game (he bides his time, and likes to wait... the FA period is the complete opposite).

Don't expect some sort of double free agency splash happening for us in 2021.

He’s a George Hillish type of player. We’ll overpay as per usual, but I think overall we’ll be happy to have him.

Van vleet needs to be a better playmaker, there's no questioning his scoring ability. Once he does that, he can become a legit starter, until that happens he'll end up being a great 6th man off the bench.

"VV's offense tends to run hot and cold. He struggled with consistency for large stretches during the season. Pre all-star break he posted shooting splits of 40.3 FG / 36.6 3PT. After the break, he ran hot shooting 43.5 FG / 42.2 3PT."

Other then the fact that this can so, so easily be variance and not proof a player runs "hot and cold", ok. I mean I guess its greater than most people's splits for three point shooting, but even so it's little proof of anything. Anyways I guess he inconsistantly hit 36% of threes for a while which is still fine.

It's really hard to compare Lowry and Van Vleet. Lowry was much more athletic coming into the league. He also wasn't given much of a chance before coming here. Kyle always showed glimpses but former teams never really gave him the opportunity that he had here. That's why I think you saw the huge production increase and him blossoming later in his career.

Fred has definitely been awarded more chances and opportunities to show us what he is. When he's on, he's a great player to have on your team. But there are still far too many times where he goes cold or calls his own number over getting others easy looks. I think his current role (6th man) might be the best role for him long-term. If he doesn't have it going you can shorten his minutes and it won't be as noticeable.

He's an ideal 6th man and match-up specific starter. Given where salaries are going, anything 20mil and under is reasonable for what he brings. Being able to make a shot and actually making it in the pressure packed situations that he did are two very different things. Not many role players (or even stars) have the ability to do the latter.

No point in worrying about what is inevitable. No Freddy, no trophy. It's that simple.

I’m never a big fan of comparing numbers by age in players but it’s especially bad when it comes to Lowry. Very few players in NBA history have had a bigger jump in levels during the 2nd half of their career than KL. His career arc can’t be compared to anyone else because it wasn’t normal.

I would suspect that FVV will have a more normal career arc and he’s already very close to his peak.

That is true. FVV is one guy who also has a weird career arc. He went from a third string point guard - barely. To being a key player on a championship team. However you're right because going through KL's seasons, it seemed like two different players stat-wise.
