This is the crazy part, the "new core" is being propped up by a 34 year old Lowry and it's simply keeping this team bad, instead of outright awful. Siakam and FVV are in their prime and OG is entering his 4th season as a starter, thinking there is substantial upside to that core is asinine.

Don't let Lowry waste another year of defying the aging curve to squeak into the playoffs and be a first round out.

First you said tank. Then just two days ago you said we should just finish in the lottery anywhere and not worry about tanking. Now this. What a joke.

I think the point which seems to go over everyone's head is, consistent lottery picks will likely deem a true franchise cornerstone, and the worse the record, the better the pick. If we are going and don't think this core or anyone in it is it, just blow it all up.

I don't think Fred, Pascal or OG are guys you must move forward with, but OG with his contract and age I would be willing to keep him. The other two you pretty much know what you get.

Pascal seemingly as his usage went up went from a swiss army knife to Demar 2.0 who plays good D.

2-3 top 10 picks with Masai, Bobby and Dan and I am confident they hit on at least one player, and the worse the record, the better the pick, so why not.

Plus I think most of us on pro sell the assets and get back into the draft know this thread was made tongue in cheek reminiscent to the Tank for Wiggins bandwagon.

It's a forum, we're just having fun, it isn't that serious

Oh i get it alright... this is what makes you truly have fun. Yeah... it is serious... but it's of no concern of mine!

I'd keep FVV. All this talk about not knowing how to run an offense.....there IS no offense right now. OG only hits open 3s. Pascal is struggling pretty seriously. Baynes isn't really an option.

Kyle takes huge risks to get layups which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. But the PG's job is not limited to getting layups and easy buckets. It's to identify favorable matchups and assess risk/reward options. FVV runs an offense fine. He's not gonna thrive when there's no offense to use. Kyle's more suited to that.

There's situations where you want a kyle (ie when you don't have any iso players and you need to take risks to generate easy buckets) and situations where you want a FVV (when you have iso players and need someone to set them up to succeed).

Fred does not run an offense well at all.

Kyle is one of the best playmakers in the NBA. How do you think a player who isn’t that athletic got this far?

He’s a great playmaker and floor general.

Fred runs around never knowing what to do if he isn’t out there to score a three or brick layups.

Today without Kyle the team was a mess. Kyle as usual was the only positive player (+14 at that) meanwhile Kyle and Pascal were both big time negatives.

PG is the deepest position in the NBA, Fred as I said a few months ago is a middle of the pack PG and now an overpaid one at that.

TWO is the real treadmill team. It'd be awesome to have Cunningham and I have the over/under at 3.5 poor games before the 'fans' label him a bust, Fade Cunningham, Trade Cunningham, another DD, another Siakam, blame Masai, and re-fire up the tank.
People pining for Malachi Flynn to get minutes right now are going to be the same clowns calling out Nurse for playing the midget Cerberus backcourt of Lowry, FVV, and new FVV.

What? Literally every time you quote me you make up something I said. I've said that it isn't imperative to be the worst team in the league because the lottery odds have flattened out. The higher the pick the better, but it isn't the end of the world if you don't get #1.

The thing with getting into the lottery is it won’t just be an overnight success.

Cunningham for example could be a bust, but with great scouting which everyone believes we have, 2-3 of these picks should net at least one franchise level talent, and if you’re lucky 2 or more.

Comparing ourselves to teams like Charlotte or Sacramento who are continuously bad because they have horrible scouting and management is just disingenuous in terms of trying to prove a failed point.

#TankNation

I'm not a fan of tanking but I would like to see some of the young guys get sometime. Start developing them now aka play Flynn.

Unless the Harden trade is made soon, I really see no other choice. It's either treadmilling or TWO 4 life. I know which way I'm going.

Before, through, and after the Calderford years we played with tanking but never did it properly.

Raps have never been able to efficiently tank.

I will deal with the 'can't run an offense' narrative regarding Fred in the coming days. But it's groupthink derived from casual ball fans who don't know what they're watching.

In 21/22 philly will have 98 million dedicated to 3 of their starters tonight. In 22/23 it will be 104.

We got 66 dedicated to our core 3 in 21/22. And they making 71 in 22/23.

We are not nearly as doomed as u make it to be.

The beautiful thing about tanking this year is there are legit 5 potential game-changers for the worst 5 teams to pick: Cunningham, Suggs, Mobley, Kuminga, and Green.
