76ers have the best potential in terms of return. Miami and the Clips have nothing of value

Not the same anymore and rebuilding is going to take a long time.
yes. let's keep the core together so the raptors players can all grow old together.
let's not try to shake things up and improve the team while selling high.

howlin mad axer wrote:So is Lowry for either Herro or Duncan a good trade for Toronto or Miami? The Heat aren't going to want to give either of those guys but there is no trade for the Raptors without one of them or someone comparable. We know what Lowry can do, we've seen some good things from Herro and Duncan but they are mostly valued just based on potential
Miami hasn’t been real good with Herro and Robinson, and Lowry just adds a different dynamic. I would want no part of a Miami team with Lowry, even without Robinson or Herro.

Herro and Precious are better than Maxey and Thybulle imo.

Herro is the best prospect that any team would realistically offer for Lowry.

The Heat are not trading Tyler Herro, I don't know why people think we could get him.
I would make the trade for Kelly + Dragic + Robinson or Precious.
The Heat would then try and get Aldridge as a buyout to replace Kelly.

Pretty sure it’s cuz he is shooting more, and he is confident. Which is what matters in terms of future progression. Also defences now focus herro way more than last year

Herro is overrated by the bubble. But that’s okay if we can flip him than I’m good. I trust our talent evaluator better than myself though. Robinson is going to get a Bertans deal in the offseason. Do we know how to get him shots?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

Re: Stein/KOC - Heat most interested in Kyle, 76ers/clippers also interested
So this makes a ton of sense from a whole bunch of different viewpoints.
- Lowry would be okay with it. Miami would be an instant contender again. He and Butler are friends. From a family standpoint, Miami isn’t as bad on the family as moving out West in mid season. Plus, Miami is on the short list of teams that Kyle would sign with in the off-season.
- Miami has the assets and contracts to make a deal work probably the easiest of any team.
- Herro, or even Robinson to an extent, allows you to trade Norm for something and saves you from having to overpay him in the off-season. You then have (ideally) Herro on a freaking rookie deal and possibly another first rounder this year to work with in the Norm deal.
- Losing guys like Herro or Robinson isn’t the worst thing for a team like Miami, because free agents will always sign there.
- Olynyk would be a good fit with the starting 5. Not a great fit, but better than Baynes.
- Miami is obviously great with cap management. I think they would value having Kyle’s bird rights this off-season.
- Miami has enough large contracts that we could feasibly send some other useful pieces to them (Thomas, Davis, Baynes, Bembry) without sending them into tax hell.
- Although draft picks would be nice, with the ages of our core guys it makes more sense adding NBA ready guys like Herro or Robinson (or even Nunn) to the core to better use their prime years.

OG, FVV, and Siakam aren’t going anywhere. NBA rotation players actually make a lot of sense unless you want to treadmill while waiting on those rookies to develop.

I get it but after the finals run it's hard to watch the team go back to tank mode.

Getting back Herro/Robinson, Dragic, Olynyk would signicantly bolster our depth and make us a threat in the East.
FVV/Dragic/Davis
Powell/(Herro/Robinson)/Thomas
OG/Bembry/Johnson
Siakam/Boucher
Olynyk/Baynes
That's a solid team.
The 2021 version of the Rudy Gay trade.
All those players are expiring, but I would want to retain Kelly and Robinson (I'm assuming Herro isn't in the discussion).

We will see how hungry the Heat feel this Thursday.

Raps can throw in someone like Bembry who would give them good bench minutes. And if they think theyre getting Aldridge in a buy out, which is looking increasinly likely as the trade deadline approaches and he hasnt been moved yet, they'd end up with very decent depth.
Lowry+Bembry for Olynyk/Dragic/Herro
Lowry/Nunn
Butler/Bembry
Robinson/
Bam/Precious
Aldridge/Bam

Again, this is the same old, same old. The only new twist is that if LMA gets bought out the Heat are frontrunners which makes a lot of sense.
I still think trading Norm in a package for either a straight up upgrade or multiple small upgrades + picks is the only likely outcome.

I think people need to understand that Robinson is a RFA to be, and looking at the contracts that guys like Harris and Bertans got, he's not gonna be cheap. And Raps dont really have the star power to make great use of his shooting

Those guys are nothing special. Picks are more valuable than just drafting rookies, we can use them to upgrade from one of FVV/OG/PS to a disgruntled star.

I dont think the Raptors are in the mood of starting from scratch since we just gave FVV, OG and Pascal big contracts: retool, not rebuild.
