News flash y'all. When you lose a top 5 player, you're likely to suck for a while. Keeping Green, Gasol, and Ibaka without Kawhi is pointless. This fan base has been spoiled as of late.

I'd consider something around FVV+Boucher for Simmons, but I think dealing Pascal for him is a losing trade for us. Especially with the duplication with Barnes' current skillset.

We're only 7 hours into FA and most of this board is already losing their **** because we didn't sign a couple 5s that might have made us marginally better or sign any guards/wings that would just take away minutes from our young players.

Look at the list of who has been signed and for what price point. Would any of these players actually make us better in the short-term or long-term? Conley (3x24), Ball (4x21), Allen (5x20), Fournier (4x19.5), THJ (4x18.5), Robinson (5x18), Barton (2x16), Rose (3x14), McDermott (3x14), etc. Even players like Olynyk (3x12), Noel (3x11) and Theis (4x9) were paid pretty well for what they bring to the table. Keep in mind we would have also needed to bid higher to steal most of those players away from their current teams.

A whole bunch of mediocre role players available this FA. The only signings that would potentially improve us enough to reach the playoffs and get knocked out in the first round are Holmes and Powell (who, if we kept rather than traded for Trent, would be the only worthwhile addition we'd be able to make)...and they're both 27 years old and just signed to 4-5 year deals worth 14-18M/yr.

Seems like people just want some excitement and to shake things up.

Nah got him in a 3-way trade with POR. They got McCollum and 2 firsts (one of which they acquired via Dragic trade), Siakam heads to POR, and the Raps get Simmons.

You just listed a bunch of 2nd/3rd string centers and don't see a problem with that.

For the record I'm cool if we were tanking but a team with Fred/OG/Siakam is too good to tank unless you want to fake injuries like we did this past season.

Yeah I'm confused, not sure why we don't have a Dragic deal already lined up,

We could still of used our capspace if we had sent Dragic to Dallas. I'd love to have Moses brown in the fold.

The capspace is gone on Friday after Trent's deal becomes official.

Because they're all stop gaps. Please tell me how any of the FA signings pushes us ahead of the top teams in the east. We don't have to "tank" yet. We can wait till trade deadline like many teams have done before, whats with the impatient with this board lately?

Might make sense. We need a playmaker and Simmons will be better as point forward and younger. Only downside is his shot but Raps seem to still want him

Thats a way better situation for him to thrive. Philly fkin ruined this guy.
