Re: Summer League Thread Part 4: Raps lose 90-84. Barnes 13,8/Achiuwa 13,11/ Banton 10,12

Folks need to take a chill pill and realize how meaningless Summer league is to overall scheme. It's nice to take a look at some of our young prospects but that is it. People that get overly excited or critical over summer league play should be ignored for rest of the season.

Having said that, Flynn disappointed. Considering his age and experience, he should be better than he was out there running the team as a PG. Dude, your spot on the team is secure so it's ok to try and set up your teammates a bit more often so we can see what you and they can do together.

Barnes was ok. Didn't dominate or anything but not like they were featuring him a ton on offense.

Have some a modicum of **** patience before you share your bad takes.

It's over Raptors are done. Sucks we can't develop players.

Not going to do him any good going there unless he absolutely can't stay on the floor in the NBA (outside of closing minutes). He'll have a role defensively and as a secondary playmaker. Let him learn where it matters

It's gonna be Banton imo. They had the ball in his hands quite a bit in this game.

let scotties ass run point or secondary point tomorrow, stop the bull. the most he handles the more he gets to try moves like that beauty. i can see him developing a nice array of moves for his size. but stop the bull mutombo, no more banton pg

It's gonna get much worst tomorrow when it's Barnes vs Green . Their are people whom are bandwagoner's that wants Suggs and isn't happy with the Barnes pick vs The people who wants Suggs but is happy with the Barnes pick and look forward to development because they see the potiental

If the raptors dont develop barnes as a primary ball handler it'll be the equivalent to bulking JV up to play like roy hibbert lmao. Dude is not going to affect the game playing off the ball

Scottie hit a corner three, a nice post turn around fade which looked very advanced. He got fouled a ton which is good. I know lateral quickness is one of those things that’s very hard to develop if one doesn’t have it but man would he be even more of a beast if he could move his feet quicker.

Coach was pissing me off with how long he has Barnes sit. Hope tomorrow they actually feature the 4th **** ing pick on offense.

I guess they are betting on Fred and Siakam to take a step next year. I mean if DeMar of all players could become one of the best play makers in the league I'm sure Fred and Pascal can become decent.

Tough game, but still lots of good to take away.

Flynn's inconsistency hurts though

Moving forward I would like to see Flynn play a better brand of basketball. He is not running the offense well in SL. Maybe this is due to playing in the Jamaal Crawford League? He's been making bad reads and not rewarding Barnes at least 3 times each game. In order for Barnes to really shine he's gotta have the level of play around him on the same page. I do think he will be alot better playing with established guys with more specific tendencies that he can adapt to.

The Rockets don't play D...should be a fun bounce-back game.

OakleyDokely wrote:Barnes looked good off the dribble. He was aggressive when he had the ball and got to the line a lot. Just needs to develop some finishing moves like a pullup and a floater. Needs to be stronger at the basket though. Can't bailout when contact comes.

Love Dalano's game, especially in transition. He moves the ball quick down court.

Precious was the best player out there. Soft touch around the basket. Good on the boards. Very mobile and athletic. Looks like a clear rotation guy.

Precious was able to pull down some impressive 1 handed rebounds in crowds. I think he will be able to give solid minutes right away.

It’s like not drafting Mobley because you have Jarrett Allen

It might've been by deisgn. Banton and Johnson were the PGs in this game, while Flynn played off the ball a lot once they were in the game.
