Ayton fills our biggest need and is one of the best blue chip prospects in the league.

That being said he’s getting a big payday (max?) next year

If Ayton ends up staying, I’d love to go for Mo Bamba. He didn’t get an extension either so he should be attainable

Ayton is one of most intriguing players who could potentially be on the market, in my opinion. He not only fills a need, but also matches the timeline of the young core.

Anunoby (24) / Barnes (20) / Ayton (23). That would be a talented, young, high potential front court.

I would offer Siakam in a trade to get Ayton without thinking twice about it, and I'd sign Ayton to the contract that he wants.

That makes no sense as Ayton is better than Jakob at everything basketball related

PER wise, Ayton (20.35 on 30 mpg) has an edge on Jak (17.5 on 26 mpg). Both shoot 61-62%, and neither has range. Ayton can make FTs at a 75% clip, Jak is at 50%. Jak blocks a few more shots.

Yes, I'd rather pay Poeltl 8 mill/yr than Ayton the max. Among Cs, only Embiid and Jokic deserve the max. If AD is a C, then him too.

I think he's a FAR more likely get than Ayton.

Perhaps the biggest part most seem to be missing is Sarver doesn't want to SPEND MONEY...Siakam doesn't fix that problem, likely won't be the better player by the end of their contract and just creates a new hole in the lineup.

The Magic on the other hand DID re-up on WC Jr and not Bamba and he'll be a fraction of the price with the Masai body prototype at C lol n he's just starting to show life that he could be an absolute steal relative to his cost and within our developmental system which will also help keep some cap for when Achiuwa needs to be retained. Sign me up for Bamba.

What am I missing with Bamba?

I get he was trapped behind Vuc for a while and WCJ coming in didn't exactly open up a ton of minutes for him, what are you seeing his upside as and what sort of contract do you see him commanding next summer?

It seems 99% of the time, when they say "Trade Rumors" they mean "Speculation"

Well, at least it wasn't for OG this time.

Yikes;
I wonder which four players we waive to accommodate that inbound :lol:

He looked real good in preseason. 11pts,7rebs, nearly 4 blocks in 20 minutes a game

He’s still just 23 and won’t be 24 until May. Physical freak of nature who seems primed for a break out year

Is it really ?? That's craziness. We do need a 7footer that can actually stay on the floor for stretches. Mo Bamba would be a good get, I'd even give up a future first for him of we are competitive around the ASB.

I like Poetl's contract for what he potentially provides;
The issue is matching salary.

The deal likely ends up being based around Boucher for Poetl unless somehow a third team rolls in to use Dragic's contract.

It depends on what "low" is but at this point why not?
He has a season to prove his worth more than his QO and if it doesn't work out you walk away or S&T him.

Matching salaries may prove challenging.

While we are tossing around "what ifs" regarding fives;
With the Peli's locking up Val today for another two seasons, I have to wonder what the plan is for Jaxson Hayes?

Boucher is a much better player than poetl,(although older). Much more impact on the game, especially offensively due to his gravity. Poetl still hasn't learned to shoot. I'd say Boucher's next contract will only be a couple mil more per yr more than Poetls too so don't see the point of trading for him. I think he is what he is offensively at this point

Mo Bamba is a UFA after this year right?

What's the Cap gonna be? Do we have cap space for him if there's a mini breakout?

I just prefer what Poetl brings more. Top 5 center in protecting the rim is a valuable skill. Especially considering how weak we are at that department.
