I mean we're talking about Minny here. You're giving them too much credit. :P

Especially when that C doesn't play defence. Towns brings nothing to this team.

You mean like how Trent doesn’t play defense? How much is the player and how much is the system? We can’t afford as a team to at least not kick the tires even if there is no serious pursuit.

Stats say that he's not a negative on defense and for a team that isn't good that's good enough for me.

Flynn, Precious, Boucher, Dragic and four 1st picks for KAT and filler. :D

Maybe Towns isn't a winning player for a reason(s).
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I don't watch enough of Towns to know for sure but with a player like him that's been losing as long as he has, I often think he's part of the problem. Yeah, he did go to playoffs one time with Jimmy Butler but he also imploded once he got to the playoffs. Can't ignore that.

If the price is right, for sure. But I don't think he's available for the right price.

Damn, I sent this to friends yesterday: Siakam, Achiuwa, Banton for KAT. Manifest it!

Sorry to all my Rexdale peeps but there ain't no free lunch. Won't get a Karl-Anthony Towns for someone considered untradeable for the past six+ months. Gotta put more in the box. Banton looks like a legit R1 who slipped through the cracks and I'm inclined to sell high. For his part, Achiuwa would be worth as much to them as he was to us in the summer (= not nothing).

Wolves side: two legit young pieces plus an All-Star in his prime with a ring. Plenty of marketing potential there. No need to set off on another complete rebuild (which I don't think their fans would have the patience for- hence no picks... I mean throw them in there if you want... they'd make scant difference to either team either way imo). Not leaving any holes in their lineup- if anything the opposite. Risk/reward trade-off seems fair.

Achiuwa/Minnesota backup C
Siakam/Minnesota backup PF
Minnesota starting and backup SFs
Minnesota starting and backup SGs
Minnesota starting PG/Banton

Raptors side: clears up the 3/4 glut. Was never gonna be room for em all anyway. For that matter, clears up the 1 glut too; already no room for them all. KAT's a fine passer... at least from his #'s (3-4 apg). Nearly on par with Gasol's. Sure he's a jump-shooting big but is that a bad thing? At 47% from 3 this year and 40% for his career he can shoot all he wants imo. Siakam was under 30% last year so it's not like we'd be losing Larry Bird. KAT averages 11.6 rebs career and his P&R game looks polished. Siakam is not/has never been that guy. KAT's also better from the line (83%) and both players could use a fresh start, right?

Towns/Birch
Barnes/Boucher
OG/VC
Trent/Mykhailiuk
Fvv/Flynn/Dragic

... that rotation is a freakin' monster! [ Insert 3-5 chips here ]

Internet side: works on the trade machine and they're all signed through 2024 except Banton.

I'm a joker and I don't really care what happens but it looks plausible to me. The pieces might actually fit?

The trade would be Barnes+salary (Dragic) for Towns, do I think Masai will do it no, but would I totally rule it out? Idk, Towns is basically the perfect center for FVV/OG/Siakam core
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Absolutely.

We can teach him how to be a winner, he can provide us with all time level offense/shooting from the 5 position.

Pascal + Boucher + Flynn is the most I’d do. If Minnesota would, then I’m all for it. Doubt they do anything rn tho

I don't think he's really available, but if so...Siakam + Boucher + Flynn + 2 FRPs. He's one of the most offensively gifted centers in the league, albeit a dud on defense. He was a decent defender back in college, so I have some hope that he can be at least passable on defense if he comes here.

GWS can probably offer the best package though if he was available.

We play in a conference with two elite bigmen. We beat them in 2019 by shutting them down with elite defence from our bigs. Defence is at the core of this team's identity.

I just don't see how Towns fits into that system.

If we feel we can get him to play D, then sure, go ahead and trade for him. Otherwise, I don't think he'll be on our radar.

Would rather go after Myles Turner. The Pacers may sell and he'd fit perfectly. He'd also require fewer/less significant assets to acquire compared to KAT

I know some of y'all smart heads see the vision.

If Jimmy Butler doesn't like playing with you then I don't want you on my team.
