Posters last week lambasted me for picking on siakams defense.
Look at this ****, he's been doing this since last season too, pretty rough

Another L. Would the kings trade fox for Siakam? Wishful thinking maybe they include Bagley too?

Richaun Holmes gonna eat
Hopefully Siakam has a bounce back game. Sacramento is one team that I could see having interest in Pascal if they wanna try to reach the playoffs and they have the assets to get something done with their luxury of young guards

He built his reputation in the league purely out of his hustle, energy, work ethic, and defensive versatility. Its sad what he’s turned into. He just looks so uninterested and lost out there

Your motor can only carry you so far without natural talent. It sucks because he's surpassed everyone's expectations but that max contract was the beginning of the end for him. It's a different level of expectation when you get that bag.

Lmao they would never ever do that. Siakam may get us Myles Turner at best. Even 76ers are willing to swap Ben Simmons for Jeremi grant, not siakam

Yeah, I figured the off-season was the best time to unload Siakam. He could have a good stretch of 10-11 games and work his value back up, but I doubt it as he’s pretty inconsistent depending on the competition.

1-5 since waiving Dekker. Could probably use him right now. Playing it safe with the tax rules. Maybe they should get a better finance guy.

Doesn't count the same when they're rich, though.

It's not like he was playing at a high level before getting injured last year. He's the same player he's always been since the bubble. That's the problem.
So Pascal gets Covid, a complex cardiovascular disease which results in him losing 20 pounds. He then injures his shoulder which requires surgery and was unable to practice and play for approximately five months.
Upon his return, he's expected to have his strength and conditioning immediately at 100%, be able to execute Nurses' switches and schemes flawlessly; essentially, pick up exactly the way he was playing prior to being wiped out by Covid and losing 20 pounds.
The lack of patience is astounding.

Almost as astounding as the plethora of excuses for this guy in the past couple years

He struggled before he had any of these issues. So many players have come from injury and managed to look better than what he put up last night after 5 games back. It’s just all excuses for the Pascal stans
He played well in the prior game so cant really blame the conditioning, especially when we had 2 days off between games
The way he played yesterday was concerning. Looked disinterested and not engaged. It’s not like this is the first time he’s playing under Nurse for him to have to learn all the schemes on the fly

I mean Siakam is pure garbage (right now)
he is the worst max player in the NBA. heck I would even want Russell Westbrick over Siakam. Siakam gives me 0 defensive switchability because he forgot how to play defense. for a 6'9" guy he can't seem to finish at the rim. he can't get pass his man.
this is only a recency bias as well. I have the right to change my mind about Siakam.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

I miss 2018-2019 Siakam....sure he "only" averaged 16.9 ppg, but he had elite defense, high energy hustle, and his scoring was on high efficiency (.628 TS%)..
now Siakam looks Demar-like with his weak defense, low efficiency scoring .......and I'm talking about Raptors Demar, not Spurs/Bulls Demar

Believe me dude, I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. But the problem is he had the same issues before his injury and before getting coronavirus. We are talking about the player from the bubble. It's not like he was playing amazing before getting the virus or injuring his shoulder. That's the problem.
That tweet by William Lou, I'm not sure that's from fatigue or conditioning. That's mostly carelessness.

Give me that MIP Pascal who averaged 17/7/3 on elite efficiency and elite defence over this 22/7/4 Pascal with average defence and average efficiency any day of the week.

After watching a game currently, rewatch a game from 18/19 season and compare Siakam's effort on defense. For me, its night and day difference. Its easy to claim its the personnel on the roster.
