The question is: what has Walton ever done to earn one of the top 30 coaching spots in the world?

24-0 with the Warriors when Kerr had back surgery.

That was a good run. He's been living off of that for years. Now, time to face reality.

However, I said this will be last we see of Luke Walton as head coach earlier but looking Alvin Gentry getting recycled so many times over despite less than stellar record, maybe I spoke too soon. Walton might resurface some years down the line unfortunately because that's how it goes in coaching circles sometimes.

The thing is, NBA assistant is not such a bad gig anyway.

And they were tied 0-0. This is the Sacramento Kings, where games and coaches are lost.

No pressure on them tbh. Unless they promote you for interim and the entire coaching staff gets hauled over in the off-season lol

Alvin Gentry is the guy who made me realize this. Years ago I was down near courtside before a game at ACC. Alvin had already been head coach of Heat/Pistons/Clippers, now was an assistant with New Orleans Hornets. So it was 03-04. He was sitting all relaxed on a courtside chair, chatting with media and others as they came by, wearing a nice jacket with mock turtleneck. The picture of confidence and calm, feeling no pressure. I just thought, what a good gig after being a HC

Choosing Bagley over Luka continues to scar them for years to come.

He's a terrible coach. If you look at Buddy Hield's advanced stats it shows it. The guy should be playing as many minutes as possible hes historically the best three point shooter in the history of the NBA aside from Curry and he's getting 28 minutes per game. Its ridiculous.
