At 9-12 where do you stand?

Tank World Order: Hope the team continues its downward trajectory so that they can add another top lottery pick talent to the core of Barnes and OG?

Team Mediocre: Try and win at all costs this season. Playoff experience is valuable for the young players on our team. Making the playoffs, even if the play-in helps preserve our winning culture.

He's the same age as these guys. He's a year older than Emnoi Bates who can't enter this draft

Wait there’s actually a chance he can enter this draft?
I thought he was just enrolling at Kentucky early but not eligible to play till next year

If so, he’s a top 5 pick and easily makes this draft that much better

Would also mean 3 potential Canadian Lotto picks

The only time they coddled him was when they sat him for most of the season when he was injured. But they kept pressuring him to come back. Remember there was a team meeting conducted by Tony Parker I think. Where the players basically asked him if he's faking his injury. That was when the rift happened (in addition to Jordan Brand only offering him 5 million dollars to re-sign back with them). I guess that was the breaking point.

But we also in a way coddled Kawhi and it worked out (for the most part, had he stayed it would have been better of course).

Maybe, just maybe we all can get an example of a successful tank in these next 100 pages. We haven't done so yet but perhaps we will get lucky here. I'm not too optimistic though.

Is there an award for the most annoying poster In a thread? If so, I’d like to nominate someone

Lakers tanked for years. used those pieces to get AD. That just happened.

My point is that in the long term you make Barnes the focal point. But in the current and next season, you keep on developing his skills within the team context, but not coddling or making him feel like he has the keys / is the #1 guy.

Looks like Giannis. MIL didn't let him be full time point forward / primary ball handler until his 3rd season.

It'll be nice in the future to look back at the draft selection of Scottie and see how much that impacted our trajectory in terms of success as a team.

For a rookie, Scottie is already pretty advanced ahead of schedule in several areas in his game.

They signed one of the best players of all-time. Literally a top 3 player of all-time. That's why they won.

The Lakers are actually the perfect example of a tank NOT working because they traded like 4 years worth of lottery picks to New Orleans and New Orleans haven't even made the playoffs yet with all those lottery picks.

you can make an arguement we tanked to win a championship. We were bad for years to get pieces to win.

Bargnani trade helped us get Kawhi
JV got us Gasol
Derozan got us Kawhi
Ross got us Ibaka

If we weren't bad, we wouldn't have had those pieces.

The Spurs still had one of the greatest players of all time on their roster at the time who led them to 4 championship teams. Bit of a different situation

I know I said I don't respond to burner accounts but I will just this one time and then go back to ignoring.

This team isn't tanking, we're just ass (Nurse isn't tanking). Tank World Order the movement is based on the realization that the team sucks and so we look forward to the draft. We obviously think it's better to get a high lottery pick than to keep pushing for mediocrity. I would like the team to tank but they aren't (Masai and Bobby would be able to do it and recover). Instead our lack of talent is doing the job for us.

Throughout history high lotto picks have led to countless championships. Literally every champion this century aside from Detroit in 2004 had a superstar on their team. Of which most were picked in the top 14 (lottery).

So this talking point of 'tell me when tanking worked' is just dumb (We're not tanking, and that's not the point). The question should be 'give me an example of a high lotto pick leading a team to a championship'. Which is ALL THE TIME.

Anyways, back on ignore.

Try again. The Lakers were in the lotto the year they signed Lebron
