Lol

Two sources with knowledge of the dynamic told B/R that Anunoby has not directly expressed discontent with his situation with the Raptors. Perhaps the conversation around him has been driven more by external interest in acquiring the fifth-year forward's services.

Josh Hart and #7 for OG should be an easy yes for us. I hope we're not overrating our talent.

In the Portland trade you'd get some coverage because Hart can be a weapon from 3 and also defend multiple positions. He was putting up 7 3PA/36 in Portland. OG was 6/36 this year.

There's a few reasons why this type of move would make sense for the Raptors:

1) Cost control of the top pick and Josh Hart (his next contract is unlikely to be worth as much as OG's next contract).
2) Removes Klutch leverage/shenanigans.
3) Gives more breathing space for Barnes to develop as a scorer, primary option defender.
4) Switches a position of surplus (wing/forward) and adds another ballhandler (saves Fred's legs).

The downside is that you remove OG's potential, which has a more predictability to it than a random lotto prospect that could easily be crap or a long-ass development curve. And also it's not like Josh Hart has been the healthiest or most consistent. He's just a solid winning player that has played for garbage teams, but will look great around better talent.

If OG needs more touches then ship FVV/GTJ out of town.

This is all pure speculation from the way it's written and its bleacher report.

Kreamy wrote:Josh Hart and #7 for OG should be an easy yes for us. I hope we're not overrating our talent.

Who at 7 is projected to be clearly better than OG? This isn't a great draft at the top, it's flat and deep. And there's so much variability in mocks that you see a guy like Daniels anywhere from +-10-24 that I don't know where he goes and if there's going to be lots of picks that look like a reach.

Oh... and Josh Hart expires with FVV and GTJ so that ain't good.

I think it was pretty carefully written. Could be nothing, but I think it's worth noting that Klutch reps OG and they did the exact same move with Philadelphia and Ben Simmons at this time of year. They privately requested a trade but agreed to keep it quiet to allow Morey a chance to trade him without external pressure.

Obviously, it would depend on what our front office thinks of the player available at #7. Considering we traded down 10 spots before the deadline, it makes me think that they're not crazy about this draft, but we did also work out a couple top ten guys so maybe there is somebody they love.

I've always loved OG's game, and I'd like to keep him. That said, I genuinely believe that Precious is going to prove himself as a starting caliber player next season, and it may make sense to clear out a spot for him in the starting lineup. That could give us a team of:

Fred
Gary
Scottie
Pascal
Precious

with a bench of:
Hart
Boucher
Thad
Khem
Banton
Champagnie
Malachi
#7 pick
#33
Plus anyone we get with the MLE.

I'm sure there's a cap space issue there, but that sort of trade gets us a ton of depth, along with potentially a high level prospect on a rookie deal to pair with Scottie.

Also the raptors try to trade for Josh Hart in 2020 for bench depth. I like the idea, but I would ask them to include one more piece either a pick or possibly Keon Johnson.

Dyson Daniels for me if he's there at 7. I think he has potential to be a Shai-Gilgeous type. But one of Sharpe, Mathurin, Griffin or Murray could be options as well.

Hart is nothing to scoff at himself. Plays multiple positions, shoots the 3 and just turned 27.

is there a better 3+D player than OG right now. on top of that a bargain contract? hes a championship level piece on any squad so Raps would ask for a haul.

I like Hart for a few reasons but he ain't OG. Just not sure 7 isn't a reach. Added to my post above.

I think that rationale wasn't about specific players in the draft but about the historical value of where they would draft and the difference between that and the Spurs' pick. They were also acquiring someone. At the trade deadline you don't even know who will be in the draft. We don't even know who will be in right now.

They haven't worked out any top 10 guys that I know of, but they interviewed Mathurin (Canadian) and Daniels. Good odds on one of them being available and also let's not forget that Adrian Griffin's son is in this draft!

I'm not for trading OG, but Josh Hart is a really good player. He's not as good as OG defensively, but they are about the same offensively imo. His contract is also a bargain , but who knows about #7 and if the raptors believe in someone there then it's worth taking a risk.

Doubt this is anything but speculation

It's likely that teams are calling about OG. Still interesting to hear although it makes sense. Elite defender on a very reasonable contract

I would consider trading him for #4. #7 doesn't do it for me, unless masai really likes someone there (i'm not doubting his drafting ability)

From Utah, Gobert definitely fits a need but is he the center we want to go all in on?

Hart and 7 for OG is only worth it on draft day depending on who is available. I’d much rather look for a Fred trade partner.

Maybe we can sign and trade Fred to Chicago for Zach if he truly wants out. Give them back draft capital as well

OG in his 5th year made some significant strides but was hampered by two different injuries that each cost him about 15 games.

He had by far his worst year shooting, with uncharacteristically low % from deep and from 2. But at the same time he had many more games than any season before where his offensive impact was very significant. For example he had 19 games of 20 pts or more out of the 48 he played, and in the first 2 months before pascal came back he was killing it in his much larger role. Apart from his first 2games in which he sucked he then went on a tear where he put up over 20 in 8 of the next 13 games, including games of 29 and 36 pts. For a guy who many thought could not handle a larger role he showed another level to his offense that was very promising. Then he got hurt.

He still averaged (slightly) more points, assists, rebounds and steals than ever and in the playoffs this year put up 20/7/2, 26/1/3/1, and 26/5/4/1/1 in the first 3 games while being an absolute stopper on D.

Basically he got a little better this year in a much expanded role. If next year he can get closer to his career shooting averages while getting more comfortable in his expanded role and in using his evolving offensive skills, plus his awesome defence, and he will be a huge piece for us. And he is on a great contract too.

Of course everyone else wants him. But OG's not going anywhere. He is still young and a few years from his prime. he will definitely be a key piece when we win our next title.

I'm not as high as some here on OG, simply because of durability.
But he's still very young, talented and is definitely worth more than the #7 + Hart.
This draft is VERY WEAK. Even weaker than the 2020 draft IMO.

I'd rather do OG for Simons + 2024 Blazers First Round Pick.

Literally the only knock on OG is his inability to stay healthy. He's very talented and IMO on one of the best contracts in the league.

I think OG is one of the best 2 way guys in the game. Very underrated. I'm only considering trading OG if the #4 is on the table.

if I'm the Kings, I do it. They get a 25 yr old 20 pt scorer with elite defense on a great contract. Brings them good balance to their lineup. 3 core pieces in Fox, Sabonis and OG.

Toronto manages their future cap better and giving more opportunities to Scottie and Precious - which they will need. Both will have massive jump years this season. Scottie blew up when OG was out down the stretch.

Dyson Daniels / Ivey would be my targets.

Daniels surging into top-8 mix

Teams are under the impression that the Daniels buzz is real. His draft ceiling has been said to have risen into the Nos. 4-8 range after he measured like a wing (6'7½" in shoes), recorded the combine's fastest shuttle run, put on a convincing shooting clinic at his pro day and impressed in interviews. The fact that he's so versatile and interchangeable between positions 1-4 also eliminates fit concerns with most teams.

Watching some Dyson videos, if he falls to 7 I’m taking that Hart + Dyson for OG trade…..
