Looks like Sharpe will be back soon. How many games he ends up playing is up in the air, but hopefully he can spark a mini-run to end the season?

Blame it on the pathetic lottery process... this NBA commissioner is a joke...

A third of the NBA TEAMS blatantly start tanking after the allstar game ... hate to be a aeaon ticket holder during these times... wasn't that way under Stern era...

Why do the raptors always tank in a weak draft year? So damn annoying. It's like they feel guilty so they must have ass it.

A bad draft with at best a 50/50 chance to get a role player it seems... makes me sigh but hey, this is where we are at. A sarr/risacher would be really nice on this team

Tanking has only gotten LESS favorable since the Stern era. Teams have just gotten smarter about it, and the whole league is more profitable so they don't have to care about ticket sales.

The only way to abolish tanking would be to get rid of the draft lottery or give everybody flat odds.

A high pick in s bad draft is still hopefully an NBA player.

Being a lottery team doesn't preclude us being a lottery team next year as well.

This is about asset retention and giving the Spurs the worst pick possible. Hopefully we no longer a lottery team if not next year or the year after. Poeltl trade looks better if the pick we give up is mid to late first round.

There is no way Porter doesn’t have very legitimate personal reasons for missing the game just like RJ and Quickly. Guy is on a two way contract. Every chance he has to prove himself and earn a full contract is important to him. Hopefully it is good news in his case though, as his brother is still with the Nuggets and playing.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

The personal reasons are "ass in a sling"

This "personal reasons" thing is acceptable to the league office? These are professional athletes. I can see IQ being on sympathy strike with his ex-Knick buddy RJ over his lost brother. But how could Porter be out for personal reasons?

I mean, I'm glad for the tank. But a bit mystified.

the blatant tanking at the end of the season is getting ridiculous.

The NBA is making their stars hobble around the court so they qualify for all-nba teams, but the bottom teams can dress gleague lineups for 1/4 season.

Agreed. I hope they up the lottery slots and flatten odds further.

Put in a rule that a team can't have back to back top 5 selections. Takes away the incentive of a multi-year tank and lessens the need to lose every game possible at the end of the season. All teams in the top 5 last year slide down to 6+ until the top 5 is a fresh set from last draft.

You still allow teams to bottom out for a reset while pretty much taking away the process.

Never expected personal reasons to cover prop betting

We may have the disgrace of Jontay Porter doing prop bets and we may be tanking to keep our pick, but nothing beats the Nets who are only a couple games worse than us, playing their regulars because they don't own their pick. Houston still laughing about that Harden trade.

League deserves this if there if there is anything to it. But them nailing a two way on the Raptors would be such a cover up for the refs and other more legit players that may be doing this.

Most of the guys are injured or away for serious personal reasons. We saw the severity of the injuries when they happened and we know why the other players are away so I don't agree it's blatant tanking.

That was a very impressive finish by Dick over Claxton

And Agbaji layup was a very impressive sequence from Raptors…you can really see what Darko is working towards at times

Return to Toronto Raptors
