You guys r something else man lol, you guys aren't even madd, y'all just wanna use any excuse to dunk on the organization.
The koloko thread is right there, the energy wasn't like this, the possibility of him coming back was always in doubt, y'all were saying he looks physically out of shape to be effective, he missed a yr, ect ect ect. Now a FA wants to decide where he wants to play & somehow the organization is the bad guy? Waste smh

Hope he returns to Raptors but just happy for him more than anything, no matter where he goes.

Very happy for Koloko being able to return to play.
Also, LMAO at everyone who ridiculed any poster who even slightly suggested "Why would Koloko be a shoo-in to re-sign here?" There was some crazy hive mind stuff going on across all Raptors socials this summer, going at anyone who said Koloko might not be back. Vast majority of Raptors fans had already convinced themselves he would be back.
Meanwhile it ended up being the same as any time the Raptors have lost out on any FA ever. Why would Koloko sign with us over a glamour market like LA? Once the reporting was out there that many teams were interested in him, that was the sign he would be gone.

Who are the people you are mad at? Our Koloko thread here was basically a thread about tanking and Orlando for some reason.

Not mad at anyone, just dunking on the many posters who were acting like Koloko would be a shoo-in to re-sign with us. Anyone who made posts in that thread suggesting otherwise got multiple replies from the hive mind vehemently disagreeing.
People really thought that things like a loyalty to the org for being drafted, given a chance by the org, and Ujiri would make him a shoo-in to re-sign with us. Any glamour market walks in with serious interest and Koloko would be gone. And at least 2 that we know of (both LA teams) did.

Having Koloko back would be nice.
He isn't the difference between us winning 35 games and 45 games, but he does add depth at our weakest position and a solid defensive presence in the paint (in theory, we'd need to see how he looks returning to form).
I don't fault the F.O. for waiving him since it did genuinely seem like his career was dead (even if I personally would have waived Nwora) but I digress.
Masai more interested in massively overpaying old washed up Canadian scrubs like Olynyk instead of building a base of young talent....
I mean we just literally added 5 rookies to the team this year but ok?

Good to see Koloko getting a chance to continue his NBA dream. Too bad it probably won't be with us. All the best to him.

This makes me laugh considering all the loyalty talk that went on in the other thread
I'd like for Koloko to sign with the Raptors, he'd be a good fit on the bench, and he'd have a chance to contribute. But he should do what's best for him at the end of the day, he has options

Still does not negate what I said... why sign a vet scrub to serious $$$s when you are not a playoff team?... we constantly bid against ourselves for scrubs... yet we are a bottom tier team right now with zero bench... Koloco can help us much more than stiff Olnyk... who was totally destroyed in the Olympics on both ends... did he not learn from the Thad debacle? Apparently not.

You really felt the need to post the same dumb take in both threads eh? So unlike you

Can you post some links? Because there are like 10 pages of that thread debating tanking and Orlando, and some people saying the league should let us sign him first or something. There are few, if any, “hive mind” posts like what you are describing that I can see.

If Koloko is serious about trying to carve out a long career, not sure why he would choose the Lakers of all teams. Playing behind AD? Not to mention he's gonna be nothing but trade bait when the Lakers unequivocally will look to trade for star players.
Some players get caught up in the "Glamour" and "girls" that Los Angeles would bring them. Sad

Kelly is not blocking anyone from playing time or a roster spot or the available amount of money to spend on a player like CK.

Thank you! I just keep laughing as I read through this thread. At this point ppl will do and say ANYTHING just to hate on Masai and Bobby. It’s so obvious lol. Very few people here even cared about Koloko or liked his game. Most keep saying he lost so much weight and will need at least a year to get back into shape, but now that he’s most likely going somewhere else 80% of the board is pissed, and it’s not because they see Koloko’s potential and how good of a defender he was in his first year, no they’re fake mad so they can speak on all the reasons why they hate Masai. It’s so tired at this point.

He's signed with klutch, klutch is the Lakers, the Lakers also might start AD at the 4 meaning CK could get some run as a starter or back-up 5 or he could be a 3rd string C.
The Lakers currently have 15 guaranteed contracts as well and like 10k from the 2nd apron.
I'm not sure how they sign CK neway, this just might be agent talk

Offer him the backup spot this season, and if's way ahead of the curb, he takes over the starting spot next season and Jakob transitions into vet big off the bench.

This is just it. We can clearly offer him a role as the rim protecting 5 while KO is the stretch 4 off the bench.
I still think he comes back here. Him hanging around our summer league guys is a good sign.

Lakers currently offer a similar role tho (Hayes is their current backup). And its in LA. If its close, i imagine most players will pick LA
