6.5 games behind the play-in teams.
5.5 games behind the worst team in the league.
Which one is easier to catch?

Let’s gooooo
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

technically, I wouldn't be completely mad at a lower pick in this draft

I just want anyone with star potential or a role player elite enough to become an all-star (i.e. Draymond Green, Mobley type)

There are around 10-12 players I'm ok with drafting. If we end up at 15, I'd just have to hope that at least 2-3 players I don't want (Kon, McNeeley, Essengue, Demin) get drafted in the top 14.

I think it would be very disappointing and a missed opportunity given the top end talent in this draft. It’s the best since 2021 (minus Wemby) in my opinion. In 2023, if you missed out on Wemby, you didn’t get an impact player. In this draft, it seems like there could be quite a few of them.

I think this draft is much closer to 2021 than 2023, maybe even deeper with plenty of both potential stars + solid role players

Agreed. But I think the top-end talent might be better which is why it’s important to get in that top 5.

I'd be so disappointed with Corey Kispert 2.0

How do you think Scottie feels about all this? Given his outpouring of emotion lately in wins, doesn't look like he's down for the tank, nor would he be very happy to tank for someone to replace him given he was provided the keys to the team.

I don’t care how Scottie feels. If he was better we wouldn’t have 12 wins.

We agree here. Scottie needs to grow up on the court and show some skills development in his offense, just to earn his soon-to-be-max. Before that, no one cares how he feels about our losing.

Right, so if Scottie proves he's a number 1, then we don't need to tank.

We just gave him a 5 year max. We’re not asking him to throw games here and we’re not pulling a Presti on him by sitting him out. The team goes out of its way to talk about how they are building around him. People need to stop babying him - he’s an adult. If this was year 4 of tanking, then yeah it becomes an issue. It’s too early now to worry about this. I bet he doesn’t like the losing, but I also think he gets it.

If they are able to compete and get back in the race it would mean there have been serious improvements. I can't see them going on a ten game win streak but I wouldn't mind seeing it happen. I would hope it means Barnes, RJ, Dick, or IQ has come into the next level and propelled us.

Winning and getting to the play in would mean we have some great pieces on our team. They'd be pieces with higher value that other teams would be willing to pay a good price for. As a tanking team it seems like our players values takes a nose dive.

A example that would outline what I mentioned would be Poeltl. He's a forgotten role player, but if we were in the top 6 of our conference he would get a lot of praise and therefore have higher value.

Not gonna lie, haven't laughed at a thread title in a while.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Turns out Raptors arent the facilitators for the Jimmy Butler trade to PHX. Draft scmaft, we're going all in on Jimmy Butler for that 10th spot!

There's the mixed message of empowering Scottie while also attempting to replace his status that I'm sure is tough to deal with. It's a player's league and Masai's credibility dealing with his star players lately has taken a hit. I'm sure Scottie is doing what's best for Scottie.

People are really bothered by Scottie being happy after a few wins?

Exactly, if the raptors continue to win and Masai goes ahead with all the trades to dump veterans, not sure it's going to land well with our #1 guy. But I'm hearing that people don't really care about Scottie anymore? Or that he should just be okay with the tank and losing?

What if he asks out because the team loses on purpose? Would the tank still be worth it if we lose Scottie?
