B- or C+. He’s pretty injury prone and if we have to give a max, wouldn’t be happy about that.

Those two could swing it up to an A or down to a C.
This is how I feel about it too. It's a B for me now given what we know of the current situation. The salary, his availability, and fit will determine whether the grade goes up and down. So many variables right now that could shift it either direction.

Re: Grading the Ingram Trade
Tanking doesnt matter much now. We are finishing bottom 2 and we arent climbing up from bottom 7.
Look at lotto odds, its not that impactful. And this is a two man draft IMO.

Re: Grading the Ingram Trade
A if he's extended to a decent deal
C if he walks or gets overpaid
Since neither has happened, I chose B

Re: Grading the Ingram Trade
Kinda crazy how many dislike the trade. Gave up expirings and a pick likely around 20th for a possible all-star entering his prime that fits into the starting lineup very well. I’m not sure if it will work with RJ but he is a bigger talent and better fit than RJ. Maybe RJ has to go to bench but that isn’t a terrible outcome. We’re still tanking this year and we weren’t tanking next year either way. Low risk, high reward.

INC
Won't be able to reasonably assess a grade until we see BIs next contract. It's absolutely dependent on if (and how much for) we're re-signing him.

In terms of value, it’s an A. None of us thought he could be acquired so cheaply.

An A if he isn’t overpaid. We gave up nothing of value for an all star caliber player when healthy.
Yeah, big INC grade right now. I'd say borderline All Star when healthy, but that's splitting hairs.

With this trade it all be ensures one of IQ or RJ is gone. The finances just doesn’t make sense. We’re not good enough to be a 1st apron team. Unless Ingram signs for something less.

I'm good with that. I'm not overly attached to either of those guys.

I'm not upset at the cost but this team became a lot more expensive with players who are huge questionmarks i.e. the health of IQ, BI going forward and the viability of a player like RJ starting.

Im not concerned about the health of anyone on our team based on this season.
Clearly we are being overly cautious to rack up losses.

He’s averaged 78% of games played per season before this one, and that’s including a couple years where he was shut down to tank and the end of the year.
He’s no ironman, but the injury concerns are way overblown, especially considering he comes from the worst organization in the league when it comes to injury management.

Re: Grading the Ingram Trade
gave it an A because:
- bought LOW on a very talented player who is now the team’s best pure scorer. assuming BI resigns, this is good asset management
- doesn’t impact our tank this year if we don’t want it to. Ie. BI can sit most of the remaining season, playing limited minutes only to assess how he best fits. Plus Brown and KO were key to our recent winning stretch, losing them helps the tank
- prepares this team to start winning next season. while this season makes complete sense to tank the way it’s gone - we can’t be perpetually losing. need to start winning ASAP after this season is done with

I think this acquisition further cements my belief that RJ is not held in such high regard with our FO as he is with some of us fans (only because he's Canadian IMO). Never gets mentioned by Masai as a core piece. I know it could just be an oversight but this has happened multiple times. We used to joke about the same thing with GTJ and it turned out to be true, the FO didn't care for him at all.

I mean, no. That's definitely wrong.
18-24...
59, 52, 62, 61 (this is only 11 games missed), 55 (this is 17 games missed), 45, 64.
He misses a lot of games. That is an average of 22.3 games missed per year over the past 7 seasons, and he hasn't been healthy this season either.
There isn't space to argue that he doesn't have significant availability issues.

A right now, a lot can change if Ingram is injured or gets the full max.
