If IQ is really on the trade, I rather make a play for Morant.

PHX wants Booker back at SG only. Could make sense they want IQ

Yeah prolly what they want....We would need a PG in that scenario....

I love RJ but I've constantly been stressing the importance of trading him by this upcoming trade deadline.
Otherwise, you wait till next summer when he becomes an expiring contract and his value diminishes.

Sell high on RJ right now! Given his skillset, he's not an ideal fit in our starting rotation.

Poeltl is going to be a free agent next summer - he'll likely demand 25-30mil AAV (Jarrett Allen money).

Do we pay him that? OR do we trade him before he hits free agency?

I’m surprised too as it always seemed they are quite high on him. But it does open up the possibility of drafting a point guard if we aren’t sold on Queen/Bryant/Noah and nobody drops to us (Mal, Fears, Tre, etc.) I mean, if the pick isn’t included anyways lol. It looks like it is, I don’t know what we are doing.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I get this, but in terms of salary matching in a big trade like Durant, what would most teams prefer?

A pull-up 3pt shooter PG with gravity, or slashing usage needing guard (both options not known as defenders)?

In this case, we don't have any significant salary on expirings, so the cost isn't really impacting the Suns in this trade. If they do want a prospect piece, they have other, smaller contracts to do a seperate trade with (e.g. adding Grady to a separate trade).

Jak is gone either way. If I had to guess, on top of the prospect/pick haggling, Masai is trying to force RJ in this deal over IQ.

Trey Murphy would be a sweet acquisition.

We should trade him.

RJ Barrett will be a free agent the next year after Poeltl. Can't afford to give these guys raises in the current Apron climate.

too many flaws in these guy's games to commit to them long term.

I think #9 is gone either way (not crazy about that but I guess thats the only way we are in this convo). Not Poeltl. I don't think you can risk both with no centre.

We're just not there. I'll believe it when I see it.

We're still just 5 deep with proven capable guys. I really like Shead, Walter, and Obaji, but they're not ready for a deep playoff run.

Giving up 2 of those 5 guys and picks just doesn't make sense. Although the guys rumored are guys I'm not a big fan of and think are overrated. But still.

New Orleans should reunite RJ with Zion.

RJ, Poeltl and #9 for Trey Murphy?
