Shams: Boston Trades Jrue to Portland for Simons, 2nd Rd Picks

Portland thinking their almost play in area, last year wasn't fools gold, and they were trending up. They think, some how they can sneak into the playoffs.

Tidy business by Boston, got underneath Jrue contract, saved a bunch on tax, and got a couple 2nds. Usually a team trying to save 30-40 mill in tax, have to pay a pretty big price in terms of draft picks to get out of the contract, especially seeing it has 3 years left. But I guess JRue is highly valued in the league, and maybe if it goes sideways with Portland they can flip him for something better?

Jrue to Suns for Green and pick?

Going off advanced stats, Jrue is still more valuable.

Jrue is still a very good defender, whereas players like Simons grow on trees.

You’re overrating Simons.

He’s a solid role player, nothing more.

He is an expiring contract to the Celtics, nothing more. He had less value than RJ, who doesn't have much positive value himself. Someone they may re-sign to a smaller deal if they get under the tax this year to reset the clock.

As long as we’re not including any firsts, I’d prob roll the dice on that. Porzingis has this mystery illness/virus that the doctors don't know what it is. That's why he was so lethargic during the playoffs and unplayable. It's been going on for months. He is damaged goods that's unplayable at the moment.
