1,000% this.

Bobby is the Poeltl trade. Bobby is the "CMB, Scottie, and Poeltl with two shooters is enough spacing" guy.

Bobby is probably an incredible investor but he has no idea what winning basketball looks like.

Anyone but Bobby.

So you're saying he's a good businessman...

I'm not exactly sure who's out there that would be interested in the job. I do not want it to be Bob Myers. Brian Wright could be interesting, though I sense Rogers/MLSE are going to be looking for a bigger name.

There's a fear it could be so much worse. Hopefully they get it right.

It won’t be Bobby, Pelley wants an older more experienced President to oversee what the GM (Bobby) is doing.

Could be better as well, Bobby has been under Masais tutelage for 12ish years now, I don't suspect we will see a rather large change to anything if he stays. And that's bad IMO, the team has been going nowhere. Not to mention, Masai (I suspect) had the balls to tell ownership he knew what he was doing, I don't imagine Bobby does, or would do so if they promoted him.

The best we can hope for, is someone who can handle Ed the same way many of the world leaders are handling trump, placate the fragile ego, while going about your day and getting **** done. Give ed a little pat on the head to make him think he's the big man in charge, give him his flowers to stroke his ego, and do the actual work.

I don't see Bobby doing that, I see him being a pawn.

Bobby is also the person that drove the Kawhi trade, I guess it doesn’t count for you because that was more than 5 years ago…

I’m not saying Bobby is perfect, but I would hate to see MLSE hire an external “business person” to oversee Bobby and team. That will be a disaster. Let Bobby and Dan see this through. If the team doesn’t respond and we suck again, then get the new person in and start fresh next April.

I think Masai is fired now because MLSE knows this team likely will do better in the coming season, and they wouldn’t get the opportunity to fire Masai without looking like cheap idiots.

I don't see the replacement doing it either. But I'm not gonna worry about it now. We shall see.

Mark Shapiro is an Ed whisperer, but he sucks as a baseball executive. Always has.

I could see a used car salesman type like BC or Myers doing well in the role politically, but they're not good basketball executives.

I'm not optimistic at all about who we're going to hire.

Going off some of the names on Grange's list.

Bob Myers: Easily the best candidate on the list. Super well-connected and obviously built a dynasty. People will rag on him for his goof-ups in the draft, but he won't be drafting as President. I doubt he is interested, though.

Saratsis: Doesn't have a huge client list. He's kinda a Bernie Lee type that just bends over backwards for his guys. He considered Masai a mentor, so there'd likely be a lot of synergy with the existing regime here. I'd be a bit leery because he hasn't been in the game that long. On the other hand, considering he reps Giannis and Bam I assume he has a load of personal integrity and will be good for the brand.

Eversley: Hell no. The Bulls have been a tire fire under him. I suspect the media here will root for him because I'm pretty confident he was a source in the Colangelo days. Look for Doug to promote guys with Raptor connections in the past so he doesn't have to do much work.

Matt Lloyd: Hell no. Looks like he was all over the Rob Hennigan Magic era. I'm getting Babcock vibes.

Dwayne Casey: Would just be a massive insult to Bobby and Dan to have to work for their former employee. Casey tried to get BC fired, and then tried to save his job by going over Masai's head to George Cope. Too much baggage.

Chad Buchanan: I don't see any point in hiring someone else's Bobby Webster to do a job they've never done.

The CAA list that's been circulating the internet:

Elton Brand: The banner story during the Process is the kind of stunt I love to hear. Gave the Sixers their best team with the Butler trade. Drafted Maxey. The bad is the Harris contract. He's been shelved since Morey took over, and it's been a circus ever since. So hard to say if he'd be a good president or not.

Calvin Booth: He has the reputation of a bball genius, but bad with managing people. I don't think he's right for the job.

Grant Hill: I can't see why he'd be interested other than maybe his Canadian wife wants to leave America for awhile. He would be the best candidate with his USA basketball experience, but again, he's part owner of the Hawks and won't get that kind of cut here. I don't see him leaving.

Pat Riley: Never gonna happen, so no point in speculating.

Allan Houston: Too much Knick stink, although has experience working under Dolan so he could probably handle Eddie.

Rick Welts: He's pretty old and more of an advisor now.

Cynt Marshall: Easily the best business executive option, but she's also at retirement age. She's not coming here for what Rogers would offer anyway.

These are obviously just reporter speculation names just to get a list going for people like us to mull over.

Right now I'm in favour of just bumping Bobby and Dan up a notch.

He would actually be exactly who I would expect Ed Rogers and Pelley to hire.

Our media member above who has wanted Masai gone all year now has no clue who we should hire so is touting Bobby lol. I would be laughing if I wasn’t a huge Raptors fan.

Oh and Bob Myers has been putrid at drafting. Amongst the worst without Jerry West. If you can’t draft here you won’t survive. This isn’t California where Kevin Durant will sign for free.

If Bobby gets it, we are ruined.

I'm actually surprised Bobby has got so many votes, let alone winning this poll.

I always told you guys he doesn't have any real basketball experience. It was a mistake for Masai to promote him so high. It basically cost Masai his job.
