Good - Cleveland, New York, Orlando

Bad - Charlotte, Brooklyn, Washington

There are 9 teams in the 4-12 range that are pretty hard to rank. It depends a lot on health, and whether teams like Indiana decide to just straight up tank the season.

I'd say Philadelphia is a top 4 team if Embiid and George are both healthy and playing a lot, but it's also really unlikely that we see that. Atlanta is really good on paper, but rely a lot on Trae Young and Porzingis. After that, we're probably as good as anybody else, so a projection in the 6th to 8th range seems fair to me.

I'm in the same boat as you. With the Pacers kneecapping themselves they have fallen out of the top 4. On top of that Milwaukee isn't done and Philly could easily bounce right back up into the top 4 bearing health. I've said low 40s as my benchmark for this team.

play-in is the most realistic expectation imho. anything lower and something really bad happened. we can make 4-6 if we have chemistry and health.

The only thing I'm certain about is that CLE and NY will be the top two teams barring major injuries. After that, it wouldn't shock me to see a number of teams at #3.

agreed. and with the way they play, i think orlando can end up with the 3rd seed...or maybe even 2nd if they are healthy all year.

Teams that I am confident will finish ahead of the Raptors: Cavs, Knicks, Magic, and Hawks
Teams that I am confident will finish behind the Raptors: Wizards, and Nets

For me, the complete range I see for the Raptors is 5-13 in the Eastern Conference.

I'm fairly confident they'll be behind the Hawks and Pistons. If the Bucks and Sixers are healthy, I think they'll be behind them too.

Realistically, I think they'll be competing with the Heat, Pacers, Celtics and Bulls for a 9/10 play-in spot and maybe a team or two above has an injury to open up the 7th or 8th seed.

I'm still uncertain about the Bucks. Aside from Giannis and Turner, the rest of the roster, including the starting lineup, is dog poop. Giannis ays he'll evaluate things at the end of the off season. So Milwaukee may yet be forced into a trade and rebuild.

Yeah their guard rotation is trash, so while they have a top 3 player in the world, he can't do everything himself. I think the Bucks will hover around .500.

I have the Raps as 6th or 7th if we can stay healthy. That's a big if for a few guys, but as a fan I have no choice but to be optimistic.

I previously said our team was probably in the 6-8 range.

How Philly does really depends on Embiid's health.

Detroit is hard to gauge as there were so many teams trying to tank this year. But I still think they should be in the fighting for play-in range.

Bucks have Giannis and Turner, but not much else after that. Their PG rotation looks pretty meh with KPJ and Rollins.

Pacers might be completely out of it this year without Hali and Turner.

Honestly, if all our mains guys stay healthy, especially Ingram/Poeltl, I think top 6 is not that farfetched. Though, 7-8 more likely.

Raps have a lot of injury prone players. Will depend on how the rooks and sophomores develop and fill the holes.

I still cannot see this team be top 6 in the East despite other teams’ misfortunes

I wouldn't bet on Embiid playing a meaningful amount of regular season games so I'd put Philly below us. I think Raptors will be top 6 this season and potentially higher if everything clicks. They were a different team in the second half of the season and Ingram should make them even better.

I think we're in the 6-9 range. But I also think there will be a move before training camp. So that may push it one way or another.

If our key players remain healthy, outside of Cleveland, I think we can compete with any team in the east.

I think a lot of people here are sleeping on the Hawks. The reasons they won 40 games in 2024-25 is Jalen Johnson only played 36 games due to injury and they played a 19 year old rookie significant minutes as a starter. They have upgraded their roster with Porzingis and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, they should make a big jump in the standings in 2025-26.

I think the Knicks are being overrated a bit. They weren't a great regular season team in 2024-25 winning 51 games in a terrible Eastern Conference, they had to play their starters heavy minutes just to get wins against lesser teams because they have a weak bench. They've added some players that might address that in Guershon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson, but they will also probably shed some of their other bench players so it's ultimately likely a wash. Realistically they have a 6 player team and they will probably have to play their top guys heavy minutes again to get wins and lock in a top 4 seed, all it will take is one injury to one of their core guys (OG was uncharacteristically healthy at 74 games played), and they could fall in the standings.
