The "gap" year Celtics will win more games this coming season than the "win now" Raptors.

If the Celtics win more games after losing Jrue, Porzingis, Horford, Tatum then its a complete wrap for this core lol.

Their role players always find a way to step up, and in general, everyone on that team is a 3pt sniper for some reason.

There's gotta be something in the water in Boston.

I expect they’ll have a season similar to us after we lost Ibaka / Gasol.

Replacing Horford / KP / Kornet with Quetas and Boucher won’t end well lol. Not to mention, no Jrue or Tatum either

Well, there’s two games left and the last one is typically a rest game around the league. If they plan on playing the starters together at all this preseason- and there’s not some injury picked up that we enabled by extending Poeltl early so he could play for Austria, tonight’s the night.

We need to see the team at full strength at least 1 game. We are not good to be throwing games to start the year trying to develop chemistry.

It's the preseason. Literally nothing that happens right now means anything. There's nothing to worry about until we actually start the season and get a bunch of games with a full roster and a normal rotation and see what happens then. And even then, it'll be 15, 20 games before we have a real idea. As always.

No one's talking about wins and losses during preseason but the whole point of preseason is to get you ready for the regular season. The starting lineup has played 0 minutes together in their careers so yes, I do think its important for us to workout the kinks as much as possible when games mean nothing.

I realize, I wasn't speaking of wins and losses either. My point was more that there's little to be taken away from the preseason games. They're basically SL with extra steps. No one's really playing full rosters or normal rotations, everyone's still coming back from the offseason, maybe experimenting a little, etc.

Last game, for example, we started Mamu, played Scottie 21 minutes, RJ 24, Quick 24, started Ja'Kobe, and indeed, no one played more than 24 minutes. We played 15 different guys over the course of the game. So individual performance isn't going to really look anything like what we should expect in the RS.

That's all I'm saying. There's no worthwhile projection to be had based on the preseason games.

You’re right but I ultimately don’t think it matters that much. The competition in preseason isn’t reflective of the regular season and it’s natural that they’ll probably stumble the first couple of games until they get used to playing with each other.

And the next 3 games are in Seattle, they just gotta win 2, where they have an 18-7 record in games with 40,000+ fans since the start of 2024, the best in the MLB. And they got their top 3 pitchers coming up.

It’s gonna be good to see the full sl - even without CMB and GD. Poeltl has been so important to Darko ball and his presence as a quality c def make a big impact. There’s not a lot of ball to go around - but all these guys been paid, so you hope it’s just about winning. It’ll be the only way it works. Pre season is not important but next week wins and losses count it will be good for them to have played their full unit against more than themselves.
