Gradey and Battle.

AINEC.

The rest of the guys should be in the G-League.

I'm fine splitting the 10th rotation spot minutes b/w Battle and Walter. The Ochai fall-off needs to be studied - guy looks like a rotation in piece in odd years and g-league player in even years for some reason.

Maybe the contract stuff is affecting him. He actually looked like a serviceable player last season and now can’t seem to do anything right.

Battle hasn't had the same NBA development opportunites as some.of the others. Gradey & Walter got way more opportunities than he did last year.

I have aalways liked his mixture of size/ shooting/ rebounding and effort. He has gotten better at other aspects of the game since last season.

Who knows.......maybe with more opportunity and more minues, he becomes a passable 3 + D guy. He should train with Danny Green. Green was a similar level athlete & was a very good defender.

I also noticed Gradey moving his feet better last night. He seemed to have more fire & intensity overall.

For the roster as it is now, Jamison and Gradey. I think we need one or two consolidation trades though.

Pretty easily Gradey and Battle. Gradey should have the shorter leash when he's not looking effective. I don't know why Battle isn't getting more time, he just looks like he knows what he's doing out there on both ends in a way that Jakobe and Gradey do not. I think we might even have an additional win if he had gotten all of the Walter minutes so far this year.

For the moment;
Battle has absolutely earned every second of the playing time he is getting based on his play, I would ride that hot hand till it isnt.
Dick seems to be the best of the rest of for now.

Yeah. They have earned it so far this year.

I really like Walter as a prospect though. I like his defense, ball handling & aggressive mindset. I still think he could be a useful player down the road.

Not sure what happened to his shooting, but I agree......he needs reps and he is not going to get those on the big club. I would love to send him down to play some PG minutes.

Walter can develop into a Derrick White type of player. Just needs a few more years to develop physically.

Ainge declared him untouchable in his first year and then traded him in his 2nd year. Zach Lowe said Ochai's value may be higher than most think prior to the season starts, so he was well set up for a new contract. Not sure what is going on with him.

His defence has looked the same this year as last - he just hasn't hit his 3's so far. But when you have only taken 12 of them all year it is a little early to say he has anything wrong until the sample grows a bit.

Walter should absolutely not be getting minutes over him though, that is for sure.

Rotation seems like it should be clear to me

IQ/Shead
RJ/Dick
Ingram/Battle
Barnes/CMB
Poeltl/Mamu

Agbaji and Mogbo as the 11/12 guys. Walter in the g-league. Temple waving a towel. Two-ways all in the G-League.

For particular matchups, I feel like I prefer Chucky to Walter. I agree with Dick and Battle being the next up but it is matchup dependant to a degree. Against the 76ers for example, Shead probably was the right choice to start instead of Occhai and then use Chucky off the bench too because you need a 3rd guard against that team. Walter has really disappointed me so far.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

You guys are way too low on Walter. It's his 2nd year. IF you think he should get g-league burn then fine. But we should be invested in his development.

Yeah he's still so young, I'm not giving up on him. But if we're trying to win right now, he ain't helping. So either g-league or spot minutes otherwise. Not first guy off the bench.

He looks slightly fitter and good to know he's gotta work on the defensive end since his shooting is elite.

I think everyone knew that this summer was the time to trade Ochai, when he shot well from 3. Now his stock is back down.

He's be a mid-late second round pick at best in most drafts. Those guys typically don't last in the NBA.

His draft class is one of the weakest of ALL TIME.

I'm not too worried about losing him.

It's Dicks 3rd, Agbaji's 4th, and Battles 2nd. Only so many minutes to go around.

Walter needs G-League. We have seen plenty of prospects develop there before.

Totally understand that we want to win. But we're also at BEST a 2nd round team? We're not at a place where development should take a full backseat to getting every single win possible. I'd be disappointed personally if that's how they're operating.
