A player who’s been constantly injured but when is heathy can play at an all nba level is available for trade at a diminished value?

That sounds right up Bobby’s alley.

Lol... OK, if you insist.

... DICK, IQ, CMB and filler... don't think it adds up...

Would rather go after Giannis....

If we can get him for a BI level package why not. But I think going after Gafford is a better play.

This rumor concerns me greatly about the competence of Bobby

Bobby is pretty tight with Klutch, outbidding himself for Ingram's extension.

It's becoming very clear that Bobby's been calling the shots with Masai, in these "win now" moves over the years .

Me saying it sounds like something Bobby would do doesn’t mean I endorse it lol.

We should stay far away as possible from AD. We have no business doing that trade.

You guys are tripping. This team with AD is coming out of the East. *

This is the only difference maker available on the market.

It would have to be IQ + Jakob + Filler + multiple future firsts. We keep CMB. Poeltl likely gets re-routed to a 3rd team that needs a big.

Maybe we get D'Lo coming back this way as a shooter off the bench. I know, I know, he's awful but need some type of ballhandler there. Unless we can steal the younger Nembhard or Brandon Williams from them.

* big asterisk, if we can keep him healthy.

We’re in 2025 brother. We are not giving up multiple firsts and our only guard who can shoot for part time AD.

It’s either a player swap or nothing.

Obviously, but Dallas traded Luka for him. They need to recover some of that sunk cost or the optics will be horrible. You're not getting AD for peanuts, he's still a top 10 player when healthy.

Just Dallas throwing the Raps name in there to drive up the price. AD makes no sense on the Raps. Contracts for AD, Barnes and BI would absorb all of the teams money. Unless they are trading one of Barnes or BI, which also makes no sense.

I don't see any feasible outcome in which we get AD and retain enough pieces to be competitive. Any AD trade starts with Poeltl because you cant play Barnes/Poeltl/AD together. So with Poeltl, you still need $35M to make a deal work. So that is RJ and Agbaji. But more realistically, RJ and CMB.

I don't think that team is good enough to win, and now you have a super injury prone guy making $54, $58, and $62M over his age 32, 33, and 34 seasons.

I don't think IQ/Agbaji/Ingram/Barnes/Davis is a title contender because Davis doesn't really fix our problems, and he isn't a "great" fit with Barnes either. He is fine (just as Poeltl is fine), but if you are paying $100M to your 4 and 5 preferably they would compliment each other.

Looking longer, the only deal I would do is

Ingram + CMB + Walter + Agbaji

IQ / Shead
RJ / Dick
Barnes / Battle
Davis /
Poeltl / Mamu

And hope that you can absolutely smother teams with your size. The offence would be horrid though.

I am by no means in the "we must trade RJ" camp. And there is a good chance it may be just me, but it's clearly obvious they are going to trade him. The Raps have historically extended those they want to keep at all costs, right away. He has been eligible for an extension for over 2 months now and has publicly stated he wants to play for the Raptors "forever". There hasn't been a peep about getting anything done on that front, or that they are even talking. Of course, it's possible they are negotiating and something gets done here in the next few weeks/months, but I sincerely doubt it.

Dallas turning Luka into RJ Barrett and CMB would be just funny.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Gotta be honest, trading for Day-to-Davis doesn't sit right with me. I can't see the Raptors actually making this trade, even though it's Shams so this rumour is automatically credible.

If it happens it's probably because the Mavs were willing to do it for a ridiculously low asking price, making it irresistible for Bobby.

I think I would quit being a basketball fan if I went from Luka to RJ.

Davis can’t play the 4 anymore. He might say he wants to but he can’t. They tried it in Dallas and he’s already back to C since his return from injury.

Poeltl would have to go in any Davis trade. But then we’re back at square one because we’ll still have no C when Davis inevitably misses 20 games during the season.

If you told me Davis could play 72 games I’d probably sign off on a trade. I just have zero faith in his ability to stay healthy.

If you can get AD for a future first and fillers he could be a benefical addition. I consider myself a hard critic of AD, but with Tatum out for Boston, and Hali for Indy, I think the Raptors need to do something. A run can be made to represent the East in the finals and I would like to see that happen.
