Raptors will really have to hit on their draft picks and minimum signings this off season.

A lot of this sounds like BS.

I don't want to trade for any of these guys

At least IQ can play himself out of that "toxic" label.
He's healthy and just needs to be more consistent. He's still relatively young.

Poeltl on the other hand....

Having to let go of RJ because of the IQ and Poeltl extension would be a nightmare...

Management really went from hyping quickley as Scottie's co star to a unmovable contract

I don’t believe any of this. Unless you’re cool with an agent or player don’t believe everything you read.

Yeah both IQ and Poeltl aren’t going anywhere

Seems like Raps FO regrets the extensions

I still have hopes JP will play meaningful minutes. He always kinda needed his minutes restricted. Get him back to 25 minutes a game of solid play and I'm good. As to Quickley, his contract will look better in time and it's not like he hurts the team. Sure money could be used elsewhere but it's not so bad. Wait it out.

I mean is it a shock? Poeltl got a bad back and iq ie one of the worst starting lead guards you can get if you plan to be a good team.

Bobby is going to be making a stupid trade very soon for cap reasons. I think we are pretty screwed, we will likely need to be a tax team for a little bit as the Poeltl and IQ contracts are adjusted over time.

If we get the sense we can't re-sign Mamu we should probably look to trade him and Agbaji for picks to the WC. We are going to lose the bench production we have but we need to figure out how we can bring back RJ.

RJ + Mamu + 2027 1st top 10 protected should be able to get us back a star player or at least a C for the future. Then we'll have to hope that IQ can fill the void RJ is leaving behind.

Poeltl is untradeable without a sweetener....given his age, current injury situation, and the fact he is owed 103.5 million AFTER this season.

That's not what anyone should be learning about the last few days of transactions and talks.

No one is lining up to sign RJ (look at the quotes about scorers who aren't defenders in the Trae trade). No one is even lining up to trade for RJ as an asset because his salary is already too big and has 2 years on it. He'll be taking a big pay cut unless we make another Jak re-signing type of mistake.

They're not even talking about our players in terms of players. It's "we're not taking those long, big salaries".

RJ will finally be a trade asset next year if the FO doesn't screw it up again.

If RJ leaves you have to move IQ to the 2 and sign a PG.

IQ will do much better as a SG.

This is horrible news for the Raptors. I figured IQ's contract was an albatross, and most of the league would try to move away from it, but I didn't think that the Hawks would even scoff at it given how they performed last year. I really don't know what Bobby is going to do. I think everyone on this board realizes the mistake it was to give IQ and Jakob those extensions as it was drawn up. Not even the Kings are willing to be their normal brain-dead selves and accept those bad trades.

Ya if u dont care about size and getting abused defensively. Only way IQ works as a SG is if we somehow get a tall PG who can guard SGs.

Typically, players like IQ are elite 6th man for a reason because they arent great enough scorers to offset all their deficiencies.

not sure why people are surprised? IQ was injury plagued last year and that offer was likely made before the ingram trade. we were probably floating the indy pick for a star for a quick turn around this year and settled on Ingram.

IQ's value bounced back somewhat this year with better health and defense while Young's value tanked. its a bullet dodged as far as im concerned.

Holy ****

Both Bobby AND Masai wanted to get off the IQ contract that badly eh?

And wow, the IQ contract is considered so bad around the league that Scott Perry doesn't even want a reunion with his guy (he drafted IQ to the Knicks).
