Hopefully, Shane Batt, Grant Hill, or Tay Prince. We have something on our side for signing Grant Hill: Tamia. Oooh, yeah!

Think they will try Chandler since with a new CBA Dallas will be capped out.
We have about 46 million in commitments including Dorsey but not including Vals.
If the cap is 67 million we have 20 million.
While Chandler is good lets be honest his career hasn't been stellar think 3 year deal 8,9,10 with club option on 3rd year.
Another possibility is Jeff Foster who will come cheaply maybe 2 year deal 4 & 5 million.
He isn't great but is a stop gap and allows Bargs to move to PF.
We shouldn't over pay Barbosa is gone next year gives us another 7.6 million.
Then Jose if not traded the following year.
Two more good draft picks and lots of money we can look at the star if our picks don't develop into that.

I think there's a smaller chance (but still a possibility) that we could bring in Brendan Haywood. I do not see BC taking a chance on Greg Oden. I also think acquisitions like DeAndre Jordan, Marc Gasol, Tyson Chandler, Hilario Nene, are simply not going to happen.

I like the idea of Joel Pryzbilla as our FA signing. A good vet who will be able to work with Alabi and Jonas next season. Dalembert from all accounts is a locker room distraction. Joel probably won't cost too much either, so we will have room to sign Wilson Chandler or Thaddeus Young.

Hope the first thing that Casey is able to do is convince chandler to sign here. He's only 28 a strong defense centre and should avg a double double. Next we need to shop calderon and bargs heavily

Hopefully I didn't come off rude in that post, didn't mean to. But I will say that if he is serious about keeping Bargnani then he is a fool who should be fired. If I were him, I'd attempt to make him look as good as possible this season (if there is one) and then ship him off.

No. Not at all. And I do agree. I don't think Bargnani is a part of the future here and should be shopped. But for him, I think the time at which we shop him has a huge effect on what his return will be. At team looking to sneak into the playoffs might be willing to part ways with their 2012 pick and another asset for example. Problem with waiting that long is he is likely going to lose even more value between then and now (if he doesn't shape up playing beside a C that the front office says they're getting). So it's kind of a two-edged sword. But I do believe that if we really want to move forward as a franchise, we need to rid ourselves of Bargnani.

I like the idea of signing a young SF this season. Here is my list:

1.) Thad Young (probably within 7-8 Mill)
2.) Reggie Williams (probably within 2-3 mill)
3.) CDR (probably within 1-2 mill)

I know everyone is saying how BC needs to stay the course, but he has to go out and sign some recognizable names if he wants to sell seats next season (assuming we have one). Come out of FA with Thad and Joel Pryz and it will be a decent haul.

PS, shouldn't this thread be stickied?

I really think this thread should be stickied. We have a trades thread stickied, so why not an FA thread.

If there's a full year lockout Nash will be a free agent next summer wouldn't he.....get 'er done.

Nash
DeRozan
Miller/Gilchrist/Jones/Barnes
Amir/Davis
Valanciunas

Do it for Canada Steve! That team would be filthy.

Not sure if this was posted, but found these articles for FA and good breakdowns:

http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2011/07 ... the-wings/
http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2011/07 ... 0-big-men/
http://nba-point-forward.si.com/2011/07 ... more-10386

Wow, PG crop is really weak this year. Teams that want a vet swingman can easily get one though. I like having J-Rich on the Raps, but that probably won't happen. Maybe Butler or Prince? I really want Wilson Chandler though to play here with Demar. Good SF who has room to grow. Won't be too expensive either. For the C spot, realistically probably Sammy Dalembert, Joel Pr, or Kwame Brown to play until Jonas arrives.

The more I think about it the more I think the Raps will make a run at Samuel Dalembert.

If we are dedicated to a rebuild I don't see the Raps tossing out the four/five year deals at some of the younger guys in the league, but at the same time its going to be hard to placate the season seat holders who sucked up last season and ponied up again this season by not adding someone of some substance.

I would imagine with Samuel Dalembert you can lock him up for three years, let him start this year then split minute with Val next year, and then be a movable asset at the draft as an expiring the following offseason.

Are you saying this as a lower bowl season ticket holder or as a moderator that has power and authority over me?

I just can't bring myself to share my true opinion about your assertion.

I'd love Tyson Chandler....next year (once we secured a top pick).

I honestly think he would have a great enough effect that we find ourselves in a position where teams like Detriot and Milwaukee were and that's just a terrible idea and sacrafice considering the franchise like talent within the top 4 this year.

I guess signing a guy like Dalembert or Pryz would be ok (very mild interest) but honestly anything else would just be a complete waste imo.

I love Nash, but you better have a really strong backup plan... He is getting old, real old and has played a lot of ball.

ekoreen Eric Koreen
Davis, Calderon and James Johnson back at the ACC today. Also: FA centre Jamaal Magloire.

Magloire is here because all NBA facilities are open to all NBA players. Magloire is from here, hence he is here.

Actually, Magoire on a vet min type of deal isn't a bad idea. He barely played in Miami the past 3 seasons, but as an end-of-the-bench vet guy, why not? Throw him in occasionally and he'll grab some boards, play passable D. Insurance, basically.

I would prefer to give those minutes to Ed Davis.
Either he is serviceable and mentor our young players through training or practice, or someone who is young and willing to stay.
