I know you are trying to be funny, but really, there is a 100% chance he plays in the East next season.

No question at all in my mind that he wants to create his legacy with a huge ass asterisk next to it.

Miami got LeBron from Cleveland in sign and trade for a draft pick.Miami has no leverage. Expirings plus or pick, knicks pick would Get be enough

OK? Miami had cap space to sign them to very high priced deals $15mill plus so all the S&T did was get a little something back for allowing Bosh and James to make more money not change the team and there was the drive for big three as Wade and Bosh signed the day before. None of that is true in Toronto. Now if he said it is 50/50 he leaves Heat and July 1 it was only 25%. I can listen to that because it is reasonable. But, he said 50/50 Toronto not 50/50 rest of the league like Cavs have a chance, lakers have a chance even Suns have a chance and Toronto has a good Roster and international flare James likes so we have some chance. Plus James wants the team he goes to having most future winnable assets. That's why Cavs working on Love but likely more on future picks than players. High cap folks first.

My point was Miami will have no leverage, they will sign and trade lebron the team his choice for a pick or two. They have no leverage on us as we can easily clear the cap space to sign LeBron to a max without their help. Dumping Amir, Lou, fields, Hayes would clear max space for LeBron.

LeBron could possible be 50-50 in coming to Toronto, but he is probably 90-10 in going to half of the other teams in the NBA. So... what you are saying is that we have a chance.

Yes, Miami does have leverage: they could simply say "no, if you want to go play for Toronto, go sign for the $10 million that they have available". That would mean that Bron would be out about 10.5 million bucks in salary. So they do have leverage.

You could trade guys like Fields & Hayes (who expire next year) with multiple draft picks and or young players for cap space. You have the ability to sign a guy like LBJ, then you trade whatever you have to get him.

I'm not even a LBJ fan, but I would do it.

You (among a few others) make good points on dumping contracts by attaching assets. And of course, if LBJ wanted to be a Raptor, you do it every day and twice on Sunday, regardless of what you need to attach to the dump. With that said, I think part of the allure of the Raptors is the young assets that we have, so dumping some of them might be counter-productive to the pitch to LeBron.

I think its all a moot point anyways as I believe he's going home to Cleveland.

Only if lebron waited till next year, we could offer him max and still have the core intact. Imagine lebron with our current top 7 guys.. Nice

I don't care how absurd this sounds.

The fact that we are even talking (dreaming) about it is good enough for me.

Oh boy... can someone please lock this?

LBJ is only talking to 2 teams: Miami and Cleveland.

He's reportedly not talking to any other teams.

OP either didn't actually listen to the segment or has serious comprehension issues. Here is what Bob actually said:

-He has heard rumblings that the Raptors have been talking to Lebron for months, well before they were technically allowed to

-There was a "report" from somebody he knows that Lebron will sign with the Raptors tomorrow

-He himself discounted the source saying he doesn't know that he can trust it

-He hasn't been able to get in touch with any of the big shots at MLSE to verify this

-BUTCH CARTER said months ago he thought it was 50/50 Lebron would go to Toronto. Bob even reiterated that he himself didn't think it was 50/50, Butch did.

He said several times throughout the segment he didn't actually think it would happen. He brought it up in a casual conversation and said he's not confident in it at all. OP trolled everybody, brother.
