I don't mind people moving if it means someone like Bender slides down to us.

Overall, bad night for the Thank tonight. Miami vs. Orlando, Philly vs. NY, Boston vs. Milwaukee. I guess San Antonio vs. Denver is ok, but we need Orlando and Milwaukee to friggin' win some games.

I'm warming up to the idea of Furkan not being as raw as I originally thought and cooling on Chriss with his defense, motor and IQ issues.

My rankings at the DEN/NYK pick are (assuming jaylen brown is gone):

1. Luwawu
2. Valentine
3. Jackson
4. Prince
5. Chriss
6. Korkmaz

I see all of these guys having decent ceilings. Chriss has the highest one but I think is least likely to achieve it. Korkmaz is intriguing and looks to have decent IQ and athleticism. I'm not sure if his 3pt shooting makes him a better bet than Luwawu long run.

Lots of great high ceiling high floor options here at our pick. Masai will have some work to do choosing the best of some really good options. I believe in Masai.

I don't think any of the PF/Cs (Rabb, Ellenson, Sabonis, Skal) deserve to be in the lottery and definitely not in the top 10. Rabb, Ellenson and Sabonis are safe picks but project to be backup level players in the NBA in my view, not having skills or measurables that are really special. Skal has all sorts of potential but his floor is super low and right now he is very close to his floor.

I actually like Rabb a lot and part of that is the same reason I could be okay with Korkmaz. They're both so young still. Whoever we draft will not play. Theyll be in the d league. So if Masai thinks one of the youngest guys can be special in a few years I'm down with the long game. As long as he trades some of the assets he's accumulated for a power forward I'm fine.
As for Korkmaz, he has a really quick release and a very fluid game.

Not a fan of Valentine..we need to find two way players and Valentine can't play D. His weaknesses seem like the type that will make his transition to the NBA tough as well.

Thon looks like a bust

Korkmaz is interesting he does seem to have the handle of things I'd rank him 7th and Chriss 8th

Just wanna say, why do people want Luwawu with our pick? Maybe with another pick, sure, he looks like a good role player who can shoot open shots well and defend, but he's not showing signs of being a shot creator, and he's not an obvious lockdown defender or elite shooter or anything.

He's too low a swing with our pick.

Valentine falls into a similar category imo.

I would argue Sabonis doesn't, but would agree maybe he doesn't have huge upside, and there's risk there because he's not obviously oozing with natural athleticism.

Skal is a huge talent and he's the kind of guy you think will either move up a lot in workouts, or stay down close to 20.

If MU believes in either of the latter, or someone like a Davis, I've no problem with it, I can see the merits in all of them. But for guys like Luwawu and Valentine, I'd be completely shocked if they turned into a core piece to potentially build around, which I think should be the goal with a top 10 pick in this, or any draft.

If we really like a Luwawu we should be looking to deal to get a lower pick, for someone whose ceiling is more 'good role player'.

I'd rather korkmaz than Luwawu. Trade down, grab another asset and korkmaz could be an option

I'm pretty much on the same page as you. Valentine I'm not overly big on, but....

Luwawu, Jackson & Prince I really like.

I'm good with Chriss & Korkmaz if Masai sees the work ethic necessary to get the most out of their abilities.

Davis & Sabonis are players that I like as well.

Mark_83 wrote:I'm really tempted to take Taurean Prince with the NYK pick if no one really good drops. He's only 21 (young for a Senior and only a year older than Luwawu), and he's far more developed and ready to help now. His measurements aren't far off at 6'8 with 6'11 wingspan compared to 6'7 with a 7'0 wingspan (probably the same standing reach). I also like that he's tough and initiates and likes contact on both offense and defense, as opposed to Luwawu who is said to avoid it. He has also shown he can shoot off the bounce and not just off the catch and shoot. If our pick is in the 10-11 range and no one like Hield, Murray, or Brown drops and Masai doesn't like any of the PF in Rabb, Skal, Davis, then I would strongly consider taking Prince, dumping JJ, and trading Ross. I think his floor is very high, and he would fit the direction of this team towards toughness, defense, and work ethic.

You make a great point. People fall in love with the "unknown" sometimes.

He looks like a guy that works hard. Maybe there's a higher ceiling there than people are giving him credit for (much like Leonard).

Prince would be a great fit on this roster too.

Valentine does not have dunk or elevation upside but he has advanced BBIQ, 3pt shooting, play making, ball handling and rebounding with Brandon Roy (another underrated senior) upside. His floor is really high as he is already a rotation utility wing player in the NBA. His defense will never be elite but he has the IQ to be average at Demar's level and not be a liability.

Luwawu is one of the best two way prospects in this draft who is still 20 years old with very few flaws in his game. An argument could be that he is not elite at anything but he still has time to develop. He is already the highest scorer and holding up well defensively playing against grown men who have been playing professional euroleague for years. I see his upside as higher than Batum and his downside as an ideal 6th man.

With Orlando's win over Miami tonight, and Denver's remaining schedule, we will certainly have a top 10 pick. There will be good options for us here, and I'm surprised how few posters are considering Davis here (whom I favour with our pick). 3 to 12 in this draft is really a matter of taste. With the strength of our present roster, I strongly support the drafting of a high upside freshman who needs a year or two of seasoning. Deyonta Davis please.

Really like Brice Johnson with our pick in the 20's. Reminds me a lot of a young Amir. Seems even more mobile/ athletic than Amir though.

I like Davis. In fact, he's the only legit big man I'd be comfortable with taking a chance on with the NY/ DEN pick.

He has a lot of work to do on his body (reminds me of Henson a bit), but I like everything else. His mid range jumper even looks pretty smooth.

I agree with you regarding 3-12 being a matter of taste (to some degree). Whoever we pick needs to be a 2 way player. We just need to pick the best one with the highest upside. I'm sure "fit" will play a role in who we pick.

I wouldnt hate just taking prince if nobody falls, keep the youth movement going, have a successor at every position, and if we can land a kd, these young guys can be the bench for like 6 mil total lol

Luwawu looks like a pretty obvious pick to me. I'll be surprised if he's still available at our pick tbh. He just doesn't seem to have any major holes in his game. Can defend, shoot, operate in the pick and roll, so his floor is quite high imo. Factor in his NBA caliber body and athleticism, and he could have a high ceiling as well.
