I'm really starting to love this kid. Can you imagine a Poeltl/Markkanen future front court with Siakam as that 3rd big back-up?

I would look to move JV for a solid 3 and D wing down the line if we somehow end up with this kid.

Would need to trade up bigtime, this guy is going early.

Obviously, everyone mentioned at this point have inflated stats since they've played less than 10 games. But Evans has star potential. It's actually weird to see him ranked so low. I don't expect him to be available when we pick but as of now he can be in the discussion.

I'm looking at his numbers again and wow...he's being slept on. His PER is almost 40! lol. I'll have to watch some video of him later to see if he's lacking athleticism because his shooting numbers and those 2.8 steals a game suggest he can be a great 2 way player. I think it makes sense for Masai to move Cojo for Noel, if he's seriously interested in picking him up, so there would be room for 1 more point guard to develop. We'll need a star at the point again when Lowry declines in a couple years and our other guys look more like solid role players.

This draft just seems stupidly deep right now.

Evans draftexpress profile sounds like Lowry. lol.

Pesky, undersized, not an exceptional athlete but takes a ton of charges. lol. Toughness... Just draft him and we have an automatic long term replacement for Kyle.

Yeah, Lowry is going to get his last big deal this off season and it will likely see his game decline with that contract. The great teams don't wait to drop off because the end product can put you in a spot like Philly who tanked like champs but ended up with 3 bigs, 2 of whom are constantly on the trade block and 1 who is questionable to make it through any game healthy.

Drafting someone like Evans who KLow can groom for the future is ideal, especially for a team like us drafting low. Honestly though, it could all be for nothing because I don't see how Evans drops that low once the season and workouts play out.

His stock will rise if he continues this absurd production, but workouts will drop him back down a bit. His scouting report says he's not an exceptional athlete and he's only 5'11 - 6 feet. I think he's still available in the 20-30 range. Definitely not lottery with this deep draft.

Give us a good reason and we'll support you.
I'm currently hoping for the Clippers to slide more than anything else.

A couple reasons...

1) trading up with a pair of back to backs can be easier. (optics)

2) evaluating talent at the same range can actually work well for the teams benefit if we dont want to move up. (Unless you are Charlotte and picking Ray Felton and Sean May  )

Joel Berry with UNC reminds me a lot of Lowry as well. Maybe not the chip on his shoulder Lowry had as a younger player - but a relentless drive to win. Draftexpress doesn't have him in their mock yet - but he's going to have a shot at ACC player of the year and a shot at making an All American team. UNC loses a lot after this year - I expect Berry to play himself into about our range - late 1st/early 2nd - and I expect him to have a big enough year that he goes pro when it's all said and done.

If Evans is really this good a scorer/shooter and passer, perhaps the best comparison(though a lofty one) is Mark Price. There just aren't many 6 foot point guards who score like this regardless of who they're playing. He's also got crazy active hands and some sick handles!

I like the albino kid at TCU. Honestly went at Fultz last time they played. Caused fultz to foul out fo the game.

TCU is playing Fultz again tonight, I suggest watching the albino kid. He's a fresh

he's decent. Got good mobility for a big so he'll be able to guard faceup bigs easily, to hedge and maybe eventually bother smaller players on switches. Not a great rim protector though because he's not explosive from a standstill off two feet and doesn't have great length. Will be be good contesting from the weakside as a 4 because he can build up speed/explosiveness on his jumps.

Super skilled offensively, an elite shooter, and unselfish/keeps the ball moving. Mainly a faceup player, should not be asked to post up much except on switches, which he can punish because he has the skillset.

I'm a huge fan of Markkanen, but Raps would have to trade up big time to draft him. He'll be going top 10 guaranteed, maybe top 5. Also I'm skeptical of his fit with Poeltl long-term, think Markkanen's ideal frontcourt pairing would be with a pogo-stick shot blocking/rebounding C.
