No...

Sign and trades are instant. When a sign and trade happens, the player signs the contract and essentially gets his rights/contract traded to another team as soon as he finishes signing on the dotted line. It's not something like a team signs a player and trades him days later, doesn't work like that

You can't technically sign contracts until July 7th. Raptors and Houston could negotiate up to that point. At this point, all reported signings are just commitments.

How about you go learn about the morotorium and how no trades signings are official until July 6.

Lol teams and players don't care about the morotorium PJ probably booked a flight to the Bahamas as soon as he signed

This is what a Rockets fan is proposing on the Main Board.

I'm suggesting your IQ score might be less than 70 without putting to words what the picture suggests.

Please link me to an example of a sign and trade being announced days after the original signing because I've watched NBA for 25+ years now and don't remember ever seeing that before

Some desperate ass ppl ITT. This news made me sad but it makes sense. 4 years is a long commitment. I've liked PJ since he was a Raptor the first time and will continue to do so.

three is a recurring theme with the rumors. What's due in 2020?

Keeps the core on the same timeline. Gives them 2 years to try and do something. Then Lowry/Ibaka/Tucker became expirings to be sent to contenders. Casey's contract runs out. DD goes into his final year before a player option he will most likely opt out of and makes him a trade target.

Ok got it. thanks.

Its how we got Hedo, for one. He agreed to sign here as a Free Agent but then they worked it into trde as far as paperwork went.

You may also remember this guy named Tracy McGrady? He agreed to sign with Orlando, but it was actually processed as a sign and trade so we could get a pick out of it.

It happens every single summer in some way or form.

Umm we offered more money.

My bad, late catching up with the details... Well, thanks for Tucker saving our bacon.... Although from what I can tell looks like Masai is determined to line the roster up with DD's deal wihich is three years... Looks like Masai would rather overpay on a per year basis to get the years he wants...

Because with how s&ts work, the player must agree to be traded to x team when he signs that contract, so its basically always a s&t as soon as he signs I don't remember it happening any other way. I'll research it when I'm on a computer though cba doing it from a phone in bed

in case you didn't notice it didn't make much of a difference this year. Tucker was nice, but people are really over-rating him here.

last year delly agreed to sign with bucks, but cavs turned it into sign and trade so they go a TPE, teams over the cap do this, and looks like the raptors plan on being over the cap. since it only benefits the cavs and not the bucks, they threw in some cash.
25 years wasted....

To be fair Delly was a RFA, no? In that case it's sort of different but sure I'll give you that

Nobody has signed yet. These are just commitments. For example, Carroll committed to Toronto on July 1st when he signed. His actual contract was signed on July 9th. Here is a picture of him actually doing it:

This stuff happens every year.

Tucker hasnt signed with the Rockets. No one can sign anything until the moratorium is done. All he has done is agreed to sign. Knowing this, the teams and agents have until July 7 to discuss whether its a straight up signing or if it benefits all parties involved to handle the transactions in a different way.

There's no way you can have been watching the NBA fpr 25 years and not have heard of this before.

Return to Toronto Raptors
