Will the Heat catch the Celtics? They have 2 games remaining and a slightly easier schedule

We could potentially be up by 3 full games over the Celtics by the end of Sunday.

The weekend went perfectly for us.

If we can get a big win vs the Jazz tonight, we could potentially be up 4 full games by tomorrow night with the Celtics visiting the Pacers.

Nah, Celtics are a much better team. Miami won't finish ahead of them.

I think it'll be close. Celtics/Heat play each other the third last game of the season April 11th - that'll be a crucial game if they're close in the standings. Miami's last game of the season is against us.

*edit - they also play the celtics April 1st

Also, of the remaining 19 games, the Heat play the Hornets twice, Bulls twice, Knicks twice, Pistons twice... all very winnable games

Something's gone awry with the Bucks. They looked like headless chickens on defence vs the Suns. And so much for 70 wins.

well they don't have Giannis.

Should the Bucks get fined for sitting 4 starters?

Sure but I've seen them play just as dominantly without him not too long ago. Something's happened. The Lakers loss has affected them somehow. Perhaps Giannis' knee is worse than reported.

its definitely not overplaying cuz Bucks don't play any of their players extended minutes in the regular season. its def precautionary.

but Giannis is the engine of that team. if you take Giannis away, you're left with a .500 team probably.

Bucks on a 3 game losing streak and their next game is against the Celtics....they'll be motivated to win. Everything falling into place for the Raptors...just need the injuries to chill.

Throw away the Bucks/Nuggets game - the bucks were fielding third stringers. But the Bucks offense - even with Giannis - has slowed considerably, esp compared to last year. Their defense is carrying them and much of their defensive strategy relies on opposing teams to miss 3's. If you go a 7-game series with them hitting your 3's you have a very good shot at beating them. Thats why Miami is such a perfect match up for them ... their sharp shooting guards (and solid D) can destroy the bucks.

Boston's next 3:

@Pacers
@Bucks
vs Wash

Depending on Giannis situation, the Celtics could possibly go 1-2.

Before our next game we could be 5 games ahead of the Celtics (on the loss column) with 18 games to go..that second seed is looking more and more likely. What a season.

I hope they play each other in the second round.

Some on the Celts board are saying it would be better to fall to 4 and meet the Bucks in the second round. NOOOOOO! I don't want to face the Heat. They're just not a good match up for us. Boston with their meh front line are much easier.

OTOH, it's cool to think that other fanbases (if not the teams themselves) want to drop in seeding to AVOID playing the Raps. That's never been a thing.

We could very well end up facing the Heat second round.
I really want the Raptors vs Celtics playoff series to happen as its loooooooong overdue.
But damn, Miami would be an easier out IMO.

with Duncan R.&Nunn and their 3s going into their first playoffs against a Championship Defense should make us feel comfortable about the matchups for Kyle, FVV and Norm...then we have a few bodies to throw at Jimmy in OG, RHJ, Norm and some McCaw.

the thing would be that Adebayo's defense on Pascal...so far Pascal has not looked good there.

matchupwise I much prefer Miami over Boston&Philly
