The bad teams like us have no incentive for play in’s.

I wouldn't say we're a "bad team" with a healthy squad and ability to play in Toronto we'd beat a team like the Wizards, Hawks, Hornets and likely Knicks. I get what you mean about us taking a step back and trying to get a boost in talent in general but this isn't a bad team.

Injuries, covid, playing in front of anti Raptor fans all season in a different atmosphere might be a blessing in disguise for the long term as we'd likely have made the top 6 spot all other things being considered and reversed. We didn't have arguably our top players for some key games.

I hope we keep FVV locked on the bench, especially against a lower seed and teams that just don't care. He will try to empty the clip and I know he wants to sabotage our pick so that player doesn't take the ball away from him starting next season. I hope management puts him in his place if we do land a ball dominant player, hopefully they can compliment each other ideally.

Besides, we don't want any long term injury with him. Time to sit our main guys and let yuta take over.

The good old days is when a world health calamity doesn't nuke the entertainment industry and derail a sports addiction. The Bubble and Tampa are a blight on the sports memory landscape and was like watching scab players in a strike. This one is out, resting, missing for personal reasons. Would rather watch Jamerio Moon Skip and Snitch Raps at home with full house than empty barn with crowd soundtrack and every bit of incidental contact called as fouls like we were never champs.

COVID 19 is irrelevant to the discussion at hand. Why even bring up COVID on a discussion about the Raptors glory days? You can like bottom feeder Raptors teams all you like but the fact is, the last 8 years are the good old days for the Raptors. There is no room for discussion.

Right keep telling yourself your feel good "facts". Covid is 100 percent relevant to everything going on in real time and in a changing landscape. If you wanna subscribe to chest pumping tough love banter from central casting be my guest. The good old days are what you made them. Yours are not mine and obviously vice versa.

This is a pretty ridiculous post, you realize ‘good old’ was first mentioned sarcastically, and second, who are you to tell anyone what their good ole days are? Each fan is unique and ‘good old’ is highly subjective.

The day we won our first championship was the best day for this franchise, if a fan cherishes the team even during its lowest days that says something about a fan. For example, I regularly think back to the DeRozan draft and the excitement of seeing him develop every year, that was the last time we had a draft prospect with as much upside (Siakam is not in the same category in my opinion, OG arguably.. a lotto pick is different though), it’s been a while since we had that and I’m looking forward to following the growth (or lack thereof) of a prospect with high upside.

COVID hasn't impacted my enjoyment of the NBA one bit. In fact, I cherish it as one of the few things the pandemic hasn't f-ed up for me.

7th is really the best outcome we can hope for as it would have been almost impossible to be worse than Cle, Detroit, Orlando, Minnie, Houston, and OKC.

3/6 did total restarts, two are bad young teams and one is just a mess.

If Chicago beats Detroit and Sacramento beats OKC tonight we’re pretty much locked in to (at least) a tie for 7th best odds. I really don’t see us getting to 30 wins

Wait what. There's a 20% chance that at least 2 teams that finish 9th or worse jump into the top 4 and bump the Raptors 9th or worse. :o

Though I guess the cumulative probabilities include where say 9,10,11 and 12 jump into 1,2,3,4.

I think if that actually happened, it would get secretly vetoed. :D

Watching hoops has always been a great escape during tough times. I’m looking forward to when they can get rid of the big plastic barriers between announcers, stop forcing all of the vaccinated players/coaches to wear masks and have fans packing the arenas. Then basketball will be a true escape from reality again

Don’t want to speak for the op, but I thought this thread was originally intended to mock those who were interested in pursuing the play-in.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

The upcoming game against Chicago is probably the most important game of the season.

May 2, 2016 was the day all followers of this franchise, not currently attached, gained a significant other. Considering the **** -storm this franchise had been for the ten years previous, that day was a momentous one.
