I agree, he's only 22.5 and would be like drafting a Christian Koloko who is only 1 year younger at 21.5.

I would waive Bonga.

What exactly are the Mavs doing? They got rid of Porzingis, Brown and brought in Dinwiddie and likely Dragic. They already have Doncic, Hardaway, Brunson, Bullock, Ntilkina, Burke. How many guards do they need?

Best big man buyout candidates consist of Tristan Thompson and Robin Lopez lool

Still two weeks + before deadline to sign bought out players.

1. Raps will sign Champagnie,
2. Wait for right player to add...or stand pat.

Aby of those guys would help us in a buy-out market

Dennis Schroeder is the least offensive name on the list.

Schröder would be a great pickup. We could be an appealing destination since he’d get plenty of minutes as our backup PG.

I think Dennis Schroeder has to be the target since Nurse will not play Banton, boucher and precious in the playoffs. It will be a 7 man rotation with Thad, Dennis and Birch for emergency mins imo.

Here's hoping this isn't a heretical thought here but I was thinking about the upcoming extensions of GTJ & FVV and how much money they will demand in the 22/23 off-season, and I just can't see us retaining the entire core and fielding a serious 15-man unit as it would be too expensive.

I'd think we'd prioritize retaining Gary over Fred. What would a return for Fred look like next deadline assuming he continues playing at this level? Could we get back some meaningful pieces?

We will retain both and cap and tax will be going up. OG may be the one we end up trading, or Siakam if he doesn’t keep up his play.

MLSE will likely pay up into to the tax if we are a 50 win team in developmental year and contender next year in year 2 post Lowry.

I would entertain it but not sure who you could get for Fred.

I don't see a big man. They are either too good or not good enough to make a trade work.

I would move him for the likes of SGA, Jaylen Brown, Dejounte Murray but they might not be interested.

If we move Fred at the deadline we won't get comparable players back, just young talent and picks.

Our best option is likely going to be the extension this summer.

I am not too concerned about being able to retain the core;
Looking at July 1st with all guys signed (10x players) we are at around 110m on the back of a 144m luxury tax for 22/23 increasing over the 136m we have this season.

If we assume next summer the we see another 8m increase we are at 152m luxury tax line for 23/24 having to re-sign GTJ and FVV;

Then the new TV deal comes into play which based on last time should explode the salary cap and tax lines.

MLSE has been effective at getting under the repeater line by staying under the tax recently and I can't imagine they would simply allow the team to be dismantled if playing well over paying the tax for maybe a season before the new TV deal.

When's Nando's season over. This is the year! Give him $3 million MLE with a 2nd year non-guaranteed to be used in trade in the offseason.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

We look where other teams don't, granted we do have his NBA rights.

Also, if Thad Young is a seamless fit after his first few games, would you send Precious to the 905? Give him that opportunity to really develop.

Since when is Thad a C? And Birch has not looked great since finally coming back.

Precious is clearly still working on his offensive game, but he is already a good defender, rebounder and occasionally hits an outside shot. Raps kinda need him up here with the big club.

Bembry just got waived. We should sign him to a modest guaranteed deal. He would help a lot with our backcourt depth. He's solid IMO. Surprised he got waived.

Wonder when we get a sense of the buyout market. Seems like we might be aggressive in that knowing our bench depth. I'm optimistic guys will want to play here if not just for more playing time and opportunity plus a good team, spring around the corner and all weather wise.

Someone gotta explain why we didnt give that 1st for White instead. We're desperate for guard help, and he's got good size on him.
