It does seem pretty unlikely that someone is going to throw a massive offer our way.

Does it really though? I can totally see Portland throwing a huge offer out in hopes to maximize Lillard. Lillard+Simons+OG gtd for next 2 years would get them to the playoffs.

Is it a massive offer that does not include Simons? Not sure especially because they only have the 7th pick.

GTJ is the only one that is not extension eligible so if the Raps even wanted to re-sign him it would be as a UFA.

It doesn’t seem like one side or both sides are committed to me based on him signing a short-term contract and Masai not mentioning him when talking about the core.

If FVV doesn’t sign that extension, I think he’s moved as well. Raps can’t afford to let these guys walk in free agency.

There’s a scenario where both guys are moved.

It would have to get explored.

Because overpaying them in FA is not something that is good for us either.

The only real counterpoint would be that Masai believes this is a contender in 22/23. Seems unlikely he would think that but who knows.

If he doesn't and FVV doesn't extend, moving both has to be a thought.

But I do think Toronto will put the 114/4 offer on the table and Fred accepts.

There’s too many holes on the roster to be contenders next year imo.

4-years $114 mill is more than fair for FVV. If he turns that down to bet on himself then you move him immediately.

I agree but it matters what the leading men think.

That's the only reason in my eyes to keep 2 expiring contracts on the team with uncertain futures to go for it next season.

If you aren't a contender and you could lose them it doesn't really make sense to gamble that much.

My view of a massive offer doesn't have to include Simons.
#7 + future first + a pick swap is more than massive enough I believe for OG.

Not in my eyes if the thought is that the Raptors have a much higher value on him than the rest of the league.

7, future first and pick swap for OG....

You guys value your players too high. I'm extremely happy, with Josh Hart & 7 for OG.

OG for Hart, #7 and the Bucks' 2025 FRP (Top 4 Protected) is a great deal for the Raptors if Masai can swing it.

Wait a minute, weren't the Raptors playing all the starters 40 minutes+ at one point in the season?

How much more of a role do you need?

OG is around Scotties age so unles you are getting something better back for him, just trading for a a guy because he is younger makes no sense

I disagree. I promise I follow high school basketball more than you. If you want to be real, this draft has the best players from the 2022 class, and the best high school players from the 2023 class.

The number one player in the 2023 class reclassified to 2022 three times. Bates Duran and sharp sharpe

It's not me, did you not read that Toronto rates a player like OG much higher than the league?

4 year difference, so Idk about that but I don't think it would be the reason. The reason would be to get a guy with Allstar potential next to Barnes, that he would be basically the same age would be a nice 2nd argument for it.

It really depends how they rate the draft. Maybe they have a strong top 5-6, we don't know that.

The consensus seems to be it's a depth draft with very few sure fire stars, maybe zero, but that doesn't have to be the Raptors opinion.

he certainly has a higher ceiling. OG is what he is, imo. He's a very good role player, nearing the top end of the range for his prototype. But Raps have 3 forwards with only 2 starting spots, and at the end of the day, they need an elite guard that can create in the halfcourt. Maybe that's Daniels, maybe that's Sharpe...i dunno. I know it's not anybody we have on the team right now, and i am fully behind trading OG if Masai thinks one of those guys is that player

Or overestimating his bbiq.
