John Collins and Zion is a terrible fit. That rumors was probably released by Hawks. OG and Zion is a much better fit

OG and any team is a better fit than Collins. But I'm hoping not

OG untouchable? OG is our best trade asset if we are trying to remain competitive. He has enough value that he could actually return a player that can help Pascal on the offensive end. There just isn’t a good trade partner at the moment.

The player that can help Siakam will be a star/superstar. That's the trade that will be enticing for OG. That's the only type of trade in our current situation that you truly entertain for him (the KD rumours this summer), unless you know he's planning on leaving, then you can do these 4 quarters for a dollar trades that are likely floating around.

The cobbled together scraps trade packages are suitable for players like Fred and Gary, who don't carry anywhere near the trade value OG does, especially in a star trade.

I agree 100%.

Like we will do a star trade... Masai Bobby must be thinking about Scottie's trajectory and funny enough OG almost matches it. That puts Paskal, Fred and Gary out there for whatever continues the Scotty age and development trajectory.

I might add Gary fits the trajectory as well if they think they want to pay him. History shows they'll pay him.

Sorry Bill, we don’t want a handful of late 1sts and just an ok prospect for OG….now change that team to the Pels & make that prospect Murphy or Daniels and instead of a handful of late picks, make it the LAL one (maybe with top 1 or 2 protection) & maybe NOP 23’, then I’m with you.

I'm not sure I agree about Scottie and OG. I think Scottie's potential is clearly higher at this point as he's a more fluid athlete and already has a better handle and better vision. Scottie has All-Star potential and OG clearly does not. The team needs Barnes to improve in the offseason and take a solid jump next year. The Raptors have been pretty fortunate in terms of always having an All-Star+ player as they have transitioned between "eras" (Vince -> Bosh -> Lowry/DeRozan -> Pascal) so hopefully Scottie can continue the trend because it's pretty hard to improve without top end talent.

Not interested in Williams. At least 2 of the 1sts will be 26-30 range. Terrible value. And Simmons knows it, what a fraud.

For the same reason you want him is why the Pelicans won't trade him. Dudes on a rookie contract who has shown potential to be better than OG so it makes 0 sense from their end. They have enough other assets to get someone else if that's what it took.

Pretty sure if that's the trade then those unprotected picks would all be in the future like '29, '27, '25 for maximum value.

Unless Pels coughs up Murphy or Daniels, the 3 unprotected Memphis picks is for OG is pretty good - Memphis are an injury to JJJ, who is probably another AD/Mr. Glass, from going into the lottery.

Lol I'm not convinced we get more than Precious at the deadline considering the garbage Philly/Miami were offering around then. Like yeah I wanted the pleasure of giving Duncan Robinson the worst contract in basketball or trade for a 12th man in Thybulle.

Serge we actually offered a fair deal too but he wanted more term with the Clippers plus we weren't blowing up a #2 seed at the deadline regardless.

I will give you the fact he's failed to balance the roster tho. I hope these next few weeks include rebuilding and roster re-balancing.

Yeah, no way Pels give Murphy for OG - that's a neutral if not downgrade, because Murphy is already producing (good 3pt shooting) at a good role player level.

I want more than Zaire Williams. Maybe Zaire, Brandon Clarke, Jake La. and Danny G for OG and Thad

Sure, but one guy is super cheap and the other is super expensive. New Orleans has a young team that they can afford to wait on. This wouldn't be as stupid as Morey opting for George Hill over Kyle, but it's the same mindset and makes a lot of sense for them. 3 seasons of Collins at 25 v. two seasons of OG at 18, too.

So you think the Heat were offering us the same or more during the sign and trade than they and other teams were at the deadline? That's homerism at its finest lol.

Masai just got lucky that Lowry didn't go to a team that couldn't have signed him straight up. Heck, if it wasn't for the tampering Miami would have declined Dragics team option and signed Lowry straight out themselves.

Wait, what?! lol

They started the season without JJJ, he's ALREADY missed 26 games for them THIS season yet they're still top 2 in the West.

They have also been a team good enough to remain amongst the top of the West without Ja missing a big chunk of the season last year. There's only maybe 30 games left in this season (which aside remains mindblowing to me how this FO can look at this team that's been bottom 6 with just a little over 1/3 of the season left & still somehow undecided but anyways), that unless JJJ gets injured RIGHT NOW that there's extremely slim (to no) chance they suddenly nose dive to become a .500 team to end the year.

Management screwed up by not trading Lowry the summer before. There was no benefit bringing him back. Then we had to take Dragic back who ended up with no trade value. Fact is last few years haven’t been kind for our management. Only win was Barnes pick.
