Eh, we don't really know if we worked on his 3pt shooting or defence and they just didn't take or not. We do know generally he was a workaholic.
Where's the D?

Siakam pissed me off so much on that play. Like wtf are u doing there lol.

While Barnes was amazing to make up for Siakam quitting on the play, it definitely was a goaltend lol.

Hell no. Lavine is a $25 million player with a $45 million contract, whose best ability is being good enough to lose. Completely empty calories.

How about Russell in a 3 team trade with the lakers. Lavine goes to lakers. Russell to Toronto. Rui and maybe reeves to bulls. We sent some package of srp Thad and maybe Boucher to bulls.
Suddenly you have Russell Trent Dick OPJr coming off the bench.

Siakams defence has been god awful all year. We easily lose this game without barnes showing up on both ends.

Darko sure as **** is not setting him up for stardom this season. Guess he must think he's not ready.

I think he's doing it because the rest of the team is very one dimensional and he has realized they won't be good contributors unless they play that one role they're good at.

Siakam needs to be the #1 option even though he has proven he's not.

Schroder needs to shoot a ton and look for his offense as that's really the only way he plays well.

Overall, Barnes is the guy who has to focus on the glue guy role to make sure the issues with this roster don't crumble the season.

We don't need to trade Pascal to get Lavine! Haha, oh my the disrespect is real. Also, Pascal is a two way player, and has more value than Lavine.

Pascal is a 2 way player only a few plays a game now. Saves his energy for offense

Maybe he needs to save more energy, 1-6 from 3 ain't pretty. His offence isn't good enough to justify him being this bad on defence.

His stats are down across the board, and this is the worst defence I think he's played in his entire career. He is not a 2 way player, and has not been for years.

500 ball.

New coach, first year. New starting pg.
Losses to top 4 expected teams...

I would say we are starting to gel, the starters, plus slowly, Trent and Precious rounding out the top seven.

Marginally better play from backup pg Flynn...

Boucher.... top nine seem to be set.

Didn't expect anything from Otto, Thad McDaniel..other bench warmers... Did expect more from Dick but he is best bringing along slowly in G league for now...

Assuming we can stay healthy , we are a play in team...at worse. let's see what Masai does come trade deadline... but don't be surprised if none of the starters are moved.

The new coach IS gelling with the players, and with wins, will come better team basketball.

I expect Pascal to be extended, as there will not be a satisfactory trade which Masai will pull the trigger on. We extend OG in the offseason and we trade Trent and possibly non top 7 players at most.... at deadline, or he lets expire at season end.

I don't really know how you parse between Stoudamire, Calderon and Schroeder. They were all basically exactly the same level of player (Damon's raw stats better because his teammates couldn't create anything) but if Schroeder's 3pt shooting regresses to 34% or so I'd guess that he'll be #3 (or #4 if you prefer Stoudamire, who did later start for good Portland teams) behind Calderon for his strengths (shooting, incredible A/TO) over Dennis' (driving, not good on defence but better than Calderon), particularly on this team where we have defenders but could use more shooting.

I am having a hard time calling Dennis a pg. He has been more of a sg that brings the ball up and sometimes initiating an action. That's it.

Naa broo he’s been a really good playmaker. He gets poeltl going at times. And we actually have a pg that is quick and can attack the rim while also being able to shoot the 3. My pick for second best pg, sorry fvv or Calderon fans

Thank you for posting this.

Everyone NEEDS to watch Siakan here. Plays great D, pokes the ball away, then does flyby. Nothing wrong with any of that, good D.

That's at the 15 sec mark of the clip.

He then ignores his man cutting to the basket without the ball and just stand outside the arc for 5 seconds watching....controller disconnected style. It's pathetic....especially from your top player, highest paid player, who wants a big raise.

Luckily his teammates kept playing 4 vs 5 and got a stop. And some will point to the score and time on the clock to defend him, but all his teammates were busting their ass to cover for him. Fir 5 seconds, Siakam became a spectator.

Also, watch when tne last shot goes up. Barnes is guarding Lavine tightly outside the arc. Siakam is guarding no one outside the arc while his man has gone to the basket. Shot goes up, Barnes races to defend our basket, Siakam takes steps to further leave our zone.

It just shows the mentality of both. Barnes to defend and cover others mistakes, Siakam looking to get outlet pass to try and get an easy bucket for himself.

wish he helped in the play-in last year.

Ah here is the baseless hate.

BTW:

In the Play-IN, he did his part.

It was not on him that we lost, but on all the other guys who choked harder than a Loose woman on gradey D.

We were 18/36 from the FT Line. Thats all you gonna know about the choking effort that game.

Bulls are trash but at least it was a fun game to watch. Siakam feasted on a team with no interior protection. Scottie’s value on full display. I forget who said it, or maybe I’m just adding to it, but Scottie can be a dominant player without scoring.

He’ll find the right balance eventually of getting his teammates involved/sharing the ball/playing the right way and being more aggressive finding his own shot within the flow of the game.

The next 7 games are super important, it's going to be a good barometer of what kind of season we'll have

@ Cleveland
@ Brooklyn
vs Phoenix
vs New York
@ New York
vs Atlanta
vs Atlanta

6 of 7 against Eastern teams, and all of these teams (minus the Suns) are right around us in the standings. This can either be a great stretch for us where we can make some noise, or it can be frustrating as all hell.
